And Chipper Jones gets honored in Atlanta with beer bottles being thrown on the field.

It just makes no sense to hear players/managers call the season a marathon all year only to have it decided by one game in the end. The Braves won six more games than the Cardinals. It's kinda dumb.

It's a shame they didn't put in like 10 wildcards this year. We would've totally made it!

No more dumb than allowing 5-7 games to decide the full season. I don't see how 4 or 6 games makes that much more of a difference over the course of a full season.

I don't think that makes sense.

5-7 games allows you to at least setup a rotation, etc. I get your point in a way, but one game is a total crapshoot and, again, it's unnecessary.

IDK what anyone would say to this, but I'd say 7 game DS, 7 game CS, and 9 game WS.

Back to 1 WC.

I'd say 3 game series for the Wild Card, but that makes everyone else wait for at least 5 days.

Wait, how the hell do the Nationals not have home field advantage?

They do. It's 2-3 format. Nationals get 3 home games IF and ONLY IF the series goes 5 games.

Only for this year.

They do, it's 2-3 this year so they get the final 3 games at home.

Interesting.

They do.

It's 2/3 now.

Brilliant analysis by the TBS announcers: "It's always easier to play with a lead in these type of knock-out games."

Baltimore should totally do the bullpen game thing. They'd be foolish not to.

HOLY sh*t!

These announcers are omniscient. How did they come to such a clairvoyant statement? I am indeed impressed.

Gonna be great when the Dodgers overpay Josh Hamilton this offseason. Even though they have no spot for him but who cares?

Dodgers sign Hamilton, Upton, Napoli, Ortiz, Lohse, Shields, etc.

Trade ALL of those to the Angels for Pujols.
