Spotify

So who out there/here/wherever we are uses Spotify? It's such an awesome tool for music. I just got Mike to get it and I figure there's a bunch o people out here. We should network some playlists around. Sharing music on multiple social media outlets.

What say you?

It's a big building with patients, but that's not important right now.

But really, it's a music thingy.

I use it from time to time. I disable sharing it on facebook though cause I don't need you to see how many times I listen to Depeche Mode and Rebecca Black.

What is it?

It's a massive music library that's streamed through the internet. It's generally free, although you can pay for different levels of subscription to eliminate the ad content, as well as make the music portable on any/all of your mobile devices. You can listen to any song you'd like, and the program identifies when your device actually owns the material and does not advertise to you when you own something.

But the really fun part about Spotify is the music sharing and discovery. Like Pandora, last.fm, etc., it has different 'radios', but that's besides the point. Every artist has their own page, with most to all of their material on it (depending on the artist). It ranks their top listened to material at the top of the page, and the top 6 artists as well as an artist biography, and additional 'similar artists' that you can page hop to and try out.

Spotify is also applicable with just about every music or music related social media outlet. Facebook, last.fm, Pandora, RollingStone, Sound Hound, SongKick, etc. etc. which is very cool if you use that stuff.

I LOVE spotify, but it has allowed people to peer into my obsessive compulsive personality. no bueno! Spotify is tits, tho!

I've never used it. I don't tend to listen to music on my computer anyway....more just on my iPod when travelling or in bed etc.

Honestly it's expanded my music listening monumentally. It lets you get to all of the new albums and all of these random artists with a simple click of a button as opposed to having to buy to try or having to really dig deep on other sites.

Start making use of yourself.

Spotify is awesome. I would post my November list but I know none of you will listen.
