Hopefully JP, Polanco and Solano all go down in his place.

Desclafini is a beast. Wish he would go deeper into games but wow has he been good so far. Might be a nasty closer down the line too.

Gotta love his control, but he's 23 in A+ though. Get him to AA already.

Marisnick is 4-4 with a HR, 3B, and 2 singles. Might get another AB to go for the cycle.

He's hitting .273 for the season, and he's hitting .385 in June.

I wish we would stop babying our pitchers coming through the system. I absolutely hate the way we handle young pitchers. Let them throw 100 pitches and 6-7 innings when they are throwing well.

I know we didnt bring Eovaldi through our system but no wonder we end up with guys like him, Hand, formerly Volstad, Sanabia, and a host of many others who have absolutely no stamina when they come to the bigs. So annoying.

Where does everyone fit? I didnt put Ozuna.

We have too many outfielders, if they all pan out. I'm really hoping Marisnick pans out so we can trade Stanton and get a haul.

Marisnick hits another homer in the 2nd game of the day. 8 on the year and currently has an ops of ..845

Didnt think so earlier but might be due for a call up in september if he continues to mash.

Question though, what kind of player is he projected to be, stat wise?

Well, from what I've heard he's one of these guys that can range from being very terrible to being a superstar. He had an unorthodox swing while in the Blue Jays organization, but I think the Marlins have switched it up to something with less moving parts. So, in other words, he projects to be just about anything. The only certainty right now is that he is a very good defensive CF.

I like Marisnick. He still needs work though. I don't want to see him in the majors until June 2014, more likely September 2014.

Yelich, when healthy, is more ready.

I don't think anyone's quite sure what Marisnick could become. I think the only sure things are that he plays a great outfield and that he's not going to walk very much, otherwise it's up in the air. There were scouts who were all over the place on him. One thought he'd destroy AA this season, others saw too many holes in his swing. I'm in the 2014 camp though, definitely give him a full season of AA first. Love that he's showing some power.

I'm still confused by Marisnick. He's toolsy and streaky at the plate. I just know he's not close to MLB ready, Yelich is.

Like I said, I like Marisnick. But currently I don't see him as a long term starter for the Marlins. But he's 22, and has plenty of time to prove me wrong.

Why don't you see a 22 year old top prospect in AA with a very high ceiling as a long term starter for the Marlins?

Dunno. It's more of a preference thing. He's a guy who can go either way, and I'm just on the side right now that he's just a toolsy guy who might not be a major league starter long term.

Again, Marisnick is one of those 50/50 guys. A few game stretch of playing well isn't going to change the fact he was bleh for most of this year.

As long as he cuts down on the k's just a little and starts walking even a little more he looks like a star to me thus far if you say he is as good as he is defensively.

I mean, he has like 120 AB's and he was injured to start the season. I'm personally pretty optimistic about Marisnick

The problem most have with him is that he took a huge step back last season. I feel like he will reverse it this year
