Detroit is looking dominant. Thanks a lot CHOKELAND A'S!

Giving up a grand slam?? Oakland could have done that.

Why couldn't the Red Sox's bats been this absent in the ALDS? -.-

Because the Rays pitching isn't as good.

Not sure that's laughable at all.

ERA - Detroit [3.61 to 3.74]

WHIP - Tampa [1.227 to 1.252]

K - Detroit [1428 to 1310]

BB - Detroit [462 to 482]

K/9 - Detroit [8.8 to 8.1]

K/BB - Detroit [3.09 to 2.72]

BB/9 - Detroit [2.8 to 3.0]

So ... yeah. And that was with a relatively crappy Justin Verlander this year.

Detroit has more dominant pitchers. Tough to match up with Sanchez/Verlander/Scherzer.

Besides the K's and BB's...that's virtually identical. And a couple of our usually good starting pitchers had down years as well.

Point remains, Detroit's pitching was better, and in no way, shape, or form was that a "laughable" comment.

Besides the K's and the BB's though...

So like besides everything pitchers are actually in control of, the Rays are so close...

And Fister isn't so terrible, either.Yea. But I was mainly pointing out who Boston faced or will face against Detroit. Moore and Cobb aren't up there with Detroit's 2 and 3.

By such a miniscule amount it's virtually not there. Again both teams had pitchers who had down years, not really a fair comparrison.

Could have sworn pitchers control WHIP, K, BB, K/9, K/BB, BB/9. And that's just naming the ones Bender did.
