Point remains, Detroit's pitching was better, and in no way, shape, or form was that a "laughable" comment.

By such a miniscule amount it's virtually not there. Again both teams had pitchers who had down years, not really a fair comparrison.

Besides the K's and the BB's though...

So like besides everything pitchers are actually in control of, the Rays are so close...

Could have sworn pitchers control WHIP, K, BB, K/9, K/BB, BB/9. And that's just naming the ones Bender did.

I believe you just argued against yourself?

Hardly. I simply said that pitchers contol more than just K's and BB's when it comes to stats.

The argument, however, was that Detroit's pitching staff was better. By the stats, they are, whether "minuscule" or not.

Ricky Nolasco is put in a vital Game 4 starting situation and it doesn't work out. I am Jack's complete lack of surprise.

Not terribly, but he pitched like Ricky Nolasco.

This is not true at all, dude. He lost. Ricky Nolasco does not lose.

What is everybody's thoughts? I think cards in 7, Red Sox in 7. Detroit will blow a 3-2 series lead.

A Red Sox-Cardinals World Series would be OK with me. Just as long as the Dodgers aren't in it.

Look at this "gamer" Hanley. A cracked rip and he still makes in the lineup tonight.

I love all the talk about how he's changed since he was in FL. No, it's the playoffs and that's when every player who can suck it up does.

Wow. He wasn't in the lineup just 20 minutes ago.

Also, he manned up when he played with us in 2011 - he was playing with an injured back for a while, then he separated his shoulder or something like that going all-out on a play. I also don't think he was holding back in 2012, but from all reports, his clubhouse attitude was terrible. I also think this year, he was finally fully healthy, and his numbers showed it. The lineup helps, too, of course.
