McGehee has turned out to be quite the surprise signing. Shades of Cantu back in the day.

He won't be our #3, at best he'll be the top option for the #5 spot in a couple years down the road, and I'll take that [depends who we draft this year, too].

I'd use someone else for the #5 spot (you know the candidates) and trade him for hitting or depth.

your 2014 Comeback Player of the Year!!

Is there really any other candidate that's even close?

High 3s, yeah, I could see that, too. Thing is I also feel he gets a lot of luck, too, a lot of balls are crushed off of him but right at someone. See top of the 4th inning.

How long do we chalk it up to luck. He's been the same style pitcher since the minors, outside of the one season in Toronto he's been consistently good in his stint in the minors, he just doesn't give up runs. Some guys thrive when they pitch to contact, and Hendo seems like he thrives letting the other team hit grounders and pop outs. Early on I remember Anibal being somewhat similar in that he got outs how he could (he struck out a lot more guys, but he relied on contact quite a bit). We spent years not appreciating what Anibal brought to the team until we finally realized what we had in the later years, only to use that to trade him for prospects.

I could easily see Alvarez being a mainstay in the rotation just like Anibal was.

Anyone notice that Allison's right eyebrow seems to have been plucked alot more than the left?

Might be the lighting.

Still would bang.

Well there's another "swing and the helmet falls off" moment for Colon.

I don't know, I feel sharp line drives right to outfielders counts as getting a bit lucky, but eh.

I understand the logic, but it stops becoming luck when it's been a common part of the way he gets outs since his minor league days. Contact is contact, and sometimes the other team happens to hit it hard if you don't have amazing stuff.

Just like that hit.

Yeah. Outs is outs, I suppose.

Just like that one. :D

If he does continue to get the outs like that, then, OK.

Let's get some runs!
