June 23, 200521 yr now they're tired of his constant lineup changes (and after he went back to the opening day lineup, the team still underperformed) 821945[/snapback] So what should he do? If changing the lineups doesn't work and keeping the current lineup doesn't work? It's not fair to not offer an alternative managing method if you are going to refute somebody's managing methods.
June 23, 200521 yr And there lies the problem. A clubhouse with confusion and bickering is a team with no leadership and no unity. Jack no longer has the ear of the players and he does not seem to be able to motivate them at this point either. It may not be fair but its a problem....and you can't fire 25 players.

It's tearing the team apart.
June 23, 200521 yr I am betting that the mindset of the front office right now is that now that we are at .500 again it will be like starting the season over. That in and of it self may bring changes. Kinda like the brand new day approach. Lets face it guys, I want a trade to go through to bring a fresh and vibrant talent into the clubhouse but the guys that we see on the field now are the core that is gonna have to win for us. Zito would be awesome but lets face it, there is one definate in baseball: THERE HAS NEVER BEEN A TEAM THAT HAS WON A GAME BY SCORING ZERO POINTS. As much as I hate to see him go, I have lost confidence in gramps and i think that a majority of the Marlins organization has as well. As for who replaces him I say bring in someone that we think will light a fire in these guys again. I SAY GIVE THE JOB TO WILEY AND SEE WHAT HE CAN DO!!!

I for one would welcome it with open arms. The only downside I can see is that it may not be that spark that the club house needs. The guy would obviously knows baseball and it would not surprise me if he was one of the "anons" who has lost faith in gramps. my suggestion would be to make this change and bring in eddie murray as batting coach. even if they tried it on an "interim" basis we surely can't play much worse and if the F.O. doesnt like the job he is doing they can always hire some a little further down the road. Who knows maybe by that time Torre or Pinella will have been fired. What do you guys think?
