Marlins acquire reliever Donnie Joseph from Royals

Featured Replies

Surprised this isn't a topic yet. Lefty reliever from KC, looks like he was DFA'd so the Fish got him for cash considerations.

Don't know much about him, but it looks like he replaces Jennings and if Joseph is some kind of miraculous catch then Dunn is potentially in danger down the line. Just my initial read on it.

It is a thread, in the minor league forums. Cause he was optioned to AAA.

Donnie Joseph is basically Mike Dunn. He can strike guys out, he can also walk guys all around the bases. Redmond will likely put him in to a bases loaded situation whenever he comes up.

He has a deceptive delivery with power fastball and a great slider. Looking at his minor league numbers, walks a ton of guys which if he can eliminate, his hits/innings-pitched ratio and innings-pitched/strikeout ratio suggest he could be good. Was a top prospects for the Royals.
