By season's end, Hech will have a higher batting average than McGehee.

It's not that crazy of a thought. Several people here were aware of the fact that McGehee's BABIP wasn't sustainable and that it would come back down to earth.

I do not understand the hate for Hechevarría. He is young and is better than average at shortstop.

For a traditional fan who doesn't care for advanced stats, Hechavarria is a likeable player.

I will give Hech a little credit in that he has certainly improved.

Hech was last year's 2009 Bonifacio. He's not as good as Tommy Hutton thinks he is, but he's not as bad as SongintheAir says he is.

I'm especially happy for Coghlan. Looks like he might have found a home, and that's awesome because he's just a nice guy who caught some bad breaks.

I agree, that's likely considering all of the hitters coming through their pipeline. Just saying it's nice he found a home in MLB, period, instead of being out of baseball.

 

EDIT: If he ends the season with numbers similar to his current pace, he'll probably grab a 2-year major league contract somewhere as a 3/4th OFer (if he's not still under club control?). Nice audition, just hope the team that signs him has a small ballpark or thin air.

This year, you're right, he has been okay at best. Last year, however, he was statistically (not my opinion) the worst position player in baseball.

And he is still pretty awful.

At least he's not Ruben Tejada.
