Marlins @ Pirates 8/7/14

I've been a die hard Marlins fan since 1993 and I must say that brian flynn has shown excellent sportsmanship in this inning. Outstanding demeanor.

His stuff is not average. He throws a low-90's fastball with no movement and has trouble throwing his breaking pitches for strikes. And his breaking pitches aren't very good either even when he does throw them for strikes. It looks like he's throwing BP and the only reason he's lasted this long is because he's facing a terrible lineup.

His fastball does have cut to it. The stuff is average, it's not great. If he has command of the strike zone he's fine, but obviously he doesn't have the stuff to be effectively wild.

Do you think Justin Nicolino has much better stuff than Flynn? If you do, you're wrong... It's all about command.

No, I wouldn't be surprised if Nicolino ends up being terrible, as well.

I've never watched Nicolino pitch but his numbers in the minors aren't impressive either and I'd expect him to not transition well to the big leagues. Based on scouting reports, Nicolino could probably get by being better than a guy like Flynn because Nicolino has a + changeup supposedly.

I expect both to have mediocre careers.

Saltalamacchia, the resilient young pup that he is, has been disappointing me lately. But good walk.

To add to that, Nicolino also has great control so that'll probably help him, as well. He'll probably be a #4/5 at the big league level hopefully.

Solano has made Argentina proud. Way to represent!

Saltalamacchia sucks at baseball. It sucks to be stuck with him for the next two years. Hopefully we never sign another catcher again. It's like trading with Detroit.
