August 13, 201412 yr Robin Williams was always very forthright about his personal struggles and inner demons. Sometimes the funniest and most talented people in the world are also the most tortured souls out there, and some of Williams' greatest performances were because he was able to go to that dark place and portray it with complete and utter honesty. This celebrity death hurts, because Williams was one of the greats. He'll be incredibly incredibly missed, and it's unfortunate that Williams didn't see how many peoples lives he touched with his work and how much positive he brought into the world. There are too many great movies that he has been an instrumental part of, far too many comedy shows where he has made us laugh to the point of forgetting our troubles outside of the moment, and far too much charitable work to condense into a small forum post. Williams was truly one of a kind. The world lost a good one yesterday. RIP.
August 13, 201412 yr Author One of my favorite standup specials is he is Live on Broadway from HBO. When I was younger I would watch it twice a week. Such a great and loved man. Shouldn't have come to this but depression is a horrible beast. When you are alone with your own thoughts , you have the most to lose. He will be missed.
August 13, 201412 yr Author Just saw this- so true. http://www.cracked.com/quick-fixes/robin-williams-why-funny-people-kill-themselves/
August 13, 201412 yr This has really struck a chord with me as I suffer from depression (have been on anti-depressants for some time now) and alcohol issues. However, unlike RW I am neither funny nor talented, so hopefully that will save me. Great actor with a great range, from the zany to the dark and brooding. Such sad news.
August 13, 201412 yr I'll take over for him. *ahem* ... RIP. What does spike have anything to do with this?
August 13, 201412 yr What does spike have anything to do with this? Whenever someone passes away, Spike makes a post that literally just says, "RIP". No sentiment, no memories of the person, nothing. Just, "RIP". Really sucks to see Robin couldn't battle his demons any further. Loved his acting, his comedy, everything. He was great.

August 13, 201412 yr RIP. Despite his more often remembered career as a comedian, I have always thought it was his dramatic roles that produced his best performances, Dead Poets Society and Good Will Hunting chief among them, and also thought that it was his ability to add in some heavier elements to his comedy work that made them stand out, such as in Good Morning Vietnam. But he was immensely talented either way and had a range that few people could match. As for being late to comment, between this, Tony Stewart killing someone, and St. Louis turning into Mogadishu, it has been a fairly busy news week.
August 13, 201412 yr I think I like him less than Piazza and Wild Card at the moment. LOL. PENGUINO.....get out of the house, take a walk. Do something.
August 13, 201412 yr You're one of a kind. Im not a big fan of whitney houston, Philip seymour hoffman, or michael jackson, or paul walker. So...?

Depression is rough i am sure. Just remember that people care about you and i know you wont want to be on the flip side if you see somebody go down due to this.
August 13, 201412 yr Im not a big fan of whitney houston, Philip seymour hoffman, or michael jackson, or paul walker. So...? You're more than welcome to have your opinion. You're not wrong to say any of this. Except that Stanton is overrated. You will be arrested next time you say it. (Kidding, of course) I'm not really a fan of three of those people, either. I am a fan of Robin Williams, and I'm a bit saddened by his passing, but you have every right to your opinion of not being a fan of his. In fact, it's almost a breath of fresh air that you say that because I've seen so many people go crazy when a celebrity passes with the whole "I was such a huge fan, this is a tragedy" shtick when they generally didn't care about the person - shoot, sometimes they can't even tell you what that person did.

Well spoken. Like i mentioned before if mrs. Doubtfire is on tv, i will take a glimpse at it. I would like to one day see one hour photo as well. Never seen hook, flubber, night at the museum...oh another movie i think might be interesting to watch is good morning vietnam. I think to be an even moderate fan, take a look at your dvds. Look who you have in there the most. I take im a fan of will smith because i have fresh prince seasons 1-4, seven pounds, independence day, and happyness. I take it i would be shocked if he passed? I dont know. But i respect those who lost their favorite celebrity and can see why the loss of robin makes things hard.

That's another really good one, if you haven't seen it.
August 13, 201412 yr Author LOL. PENGUINO.....get out of the house, take a walk. Do something. Psycho analyze him. He likes that.
August 14, 201412 yr Author I'm amused when you try because it's clear that you don't know a thing about psychoanalysis. If your good at something you don't do it for free. I'm not very good.
