Stanton swings at 3 pitches nowhere near the zone in his obvious attempt to stop falling behind 0-2 on two fastballs down the middle. McGehee looked like he had no interest in protecting and just took strike 3 down the pipe. Eovaldi was solid and made one bad pitch. And I dont give a fuck about matchups but with the way Baker and been swinging compared to Jones, I leave Baker in there. I was cursing Redmond the entire at bat. Garret Jones is fucking useless. Lose another game to St. Louis and San Francisco. On our way to a fun September of irrelevance.

August 31, 201412 yr Author With Stanton being the anchor, you just cannot have at bats like he did in the 6th. It will happen once in a while but if you are going to be the best hitter, thats not how to do it. Everyone will have bad at bats but he takes it to a new low. I dont understand how his numbers are where they are sometimes when you can literally throw him 3 pitches nowhere remotely close to the plate and get him out. Its like when he falls behind he figures he may as well throw his bat at it.

September 1, 201412 yr didn't watch. Was Eovaldi better tonight at least or just lucky? a mix of both but probably the former more than anything. His fastball velocity was really nice and he was throwing the slider for strikes so that certainly helped
