November 9, 201411 yr There is no fucking excuse to have a payroll under 90 million in 2015 in MLB with all the fucking cash coming in from national media deals alone. Especially if you are selling that you are trying to win and compete. Marlins should lock up Stanton, Yelich, Fernandez, and probably Ozuna long term. Buy out a year or two of free agency, know your costs going forward and add from there. And they should have done this with Stanton last winter. I wont hold my breath that Yelich, Fernandez or Ozuna get locked up long term like they should, like a smart organization would do that cries poverty like the Marlins do. Been so fucking mismanaged for years. Saddens me to say, but I would actually hold off on Fernandez until we see how he performs post TJ.
