Can the Marlins find a way to pay Jose?

New TV deal won't be done this off-season unfortunately and if Jose pitches well in 2016, his request will be astronomical

Yup because for jose, money is everything. Jose needs to shut up and be humble.

I am not saying this off-season,I think with the new TV deal on hand we should be able to give what BORAS want even after the 2018 season, because we would be affordable his FA MONEY at that time.

I think even being humble, the MONEY is still be everything to a MLB player.

Jose will command a deal with a 40 mil AAV possibly. Not realistic because I doubt the fish get a TV deal that is as good as say the Dodgers

of course I hope we lock him up before 2018 with the relatively low money, but with the new deal money we at least got the real chance to compete with BIG TEAMS for FA JOSE.

Well no they actually haven't. They have not actively looked for one since the inaugural season.

Not asking you to tell us what it us but have you heard what the name could possibly be? I just wanna know if it's a cheesy name or not.

You're assuming Loria even wants to spend that TV money.

I just think Jose wants to get paid what he feels he is worth, nothing is wrong with that. Since it definitely seems he will be way better than Grienke if he stays healthy and pitches the way he does.

Marlins haven't been seeking naming rights since 2012 like @Admin I hadn't heard anything since then. Although the naming rights isn't as big as a TV deal right now it is a step in the right direction.

FA contracts right now as just absurd and this off season just proved it.

As a Marlins exec my offer would of been 100 mil for 6 years.

Exactly. $100 million. Good enough for me. I feel if I'm offered that I would take it without thinking twice. For Stanton, for instance, if he was offered $325 that's one thing. But if he said "Naaah I don't want $250 million I want $325 million" then I see that as selfish. Offering $100 (or $325) is way different than negotiating for it. If we offer Jose $100 and he wants $125 he can go screw.
