well that was just awful.

in fairness I'm an adult that just went to see Batman V Superman - so y'know, perspective - but c'mon DC.

So the reviews are true?

ohhhh man, say everything without real spoilers. why bad?

It turns out Batman is actually Clark Kent and Superman is actually Bruce Wayne.  WHAT A TWIST

My enthusiasm died for this movie immediately once the reviews came out.

I still want to see it, but not in theaters at this point.

This movie looked awful and got bad reviews. I'm surprised that so many people actually went out to theater this weekend to see it.

they are showing the original superman on tv. so so so boring.

I ignore reviews personally especially from movie critics. I find I often like something they hate. That being said it's tough to find ANY good reviews here. I'll still watch it for myself though eventually

From what I hear, if you liked Man of Steel then you'll like BvS

Lets hit the theater, babe. Cut a hole in the bottom of the popcorn bucket so the popcorn falls on the floor and makes a mess.

Fuck you, i want the popcorn.

Man of Steel was absolutely no fun. I get trying to be serious but nobody's going to enjoy a movie that just sucks all the enjoyment out of watching what has historically been a cheesy superhero.

I can see that point of view, I like the dark/gritty superhero stuff though so I guess it worked for me even though it went against the Superman idea.

I'll say this is particularly true with comedies. Critics love to shit on some good comedies maybe because they don't want to admit that a lowly form of acting can be entertaining. White Chicks is a great example.

I agree with DB that comedies generally get a terrible rap with critics that are often really funny. Think classics like Home Alone and Space Jam don't even get 50% on rotten. I also think Not Another Teen Movie is one of the funniest parody movies ever and its at 23% critics. I also think White Chicks is hilarious but I also enjoyed Little Man and understand that movie is garbage to 99% of people.

Critics are generally a good gauge for the type of movie you're getting into, but like all things there is room for differing opinions.

When it came to Batman V. Superman I had a feeling what kind of movie it would be simply because of Zack Snyder. He's got a particular style to the movies he does, something that doesn't always resonate to watching something particularly deep or exciting. He can throw action into scenes like very few other directors, but the story elements of his movies are always lacking.

Which movies did you really like that were panned by critics?

I recall two superhero movies I personally enjoyed not doing some hot in reviews overall unless my memory is failing me. Man of Steel and Fantastic Four (2005 version). I think the latter got brutalized in reviews actually.

If its not obvious, I'm a sucker for superhero movies.

Anyone think they should have used the TV version of The Flash for the DC movie universe? Marvel does a good job of mixing the TV/Movie universes.

I had planned to go see it last night despite the horrible reviews. It was a blessing in disguise when it was sold out. I got to see London Has Fallen and that movie was awesome. Much better than what Batman vs Superman would have offered.

Was that actually good? I mean I enjoyed Olympus Has Fallen but to think it could be done again, I imagined it'd be dumb as hell. Should I see it for real?

My wife hasn't even seen Olympus has Fallen and she didn't feel lost at all in this movie. You couldn't even tell it was a sequel. I thought it wasn't going to be so good, especially after seeing the trailer. I loved it. Considering I was a little tired heading to the movies, I wasn't bored at all with this movie. Also though Gerard Butler was hilarious with some of the stuff he said. Seriously 10x more action scenes then what the Batman vs Superman movie had.

I also saw Olympus has Fallen 3 weeks prior just to refresh my memory before seeing this movie.

I'm sold, thanks
