Batman V Superman

I'd say it's worse than Superman Returns (which was passable) and worse than Man of Steel, which while not great at least had some enjoyable moments.  I don't love Zack Snyder and had low expectations going in.

The acting is fine, Affleck's Batman is actually pretty good.  Not a fan of Jesse Eisenberg's Lex Luthor, not sure whether to just pin that on the story and dialogue.  The story/script is a shambled mess and jumps all over the place.  If you hadn't read a lot of comics you'd be thoroughly confused.  Also it's completely joyless.  It's clearly the Frank Miller Batman they're going for, if you've read enough Batman.  Which, okay I can handle the dark gritty theme... Christopher Nolan seemed to do that just fine.  This is like seeing The Watchmen again without the cool visuals and decent story.  Whoever did the music score I'd like to punch in the teeth, it's just screaming at you (though that could also be my crappy theater audio).

It's probably not Green Lantern level bad.  Maybe Affleck-Daredevil level.   If you don't care about anything at all outside of the fights.... yeah it's still not great.  It's a shame too, because there's a good story in there somewhere, it's just delivered really poorly IMO.  Your mileage may vary.

Anyone watch The Witch? I thought it was amazing.

Also lol at watching superhero movies. Wake up sheeple.

in fairness I'm an adult that just went to see Batman V Superman - so y'know, perspective - but c'mon DC.

I don't get this point. We're adults who grew up as kids enjoying superheroes, why can't we go watch a full out movie about the same characters? This isn't like we're sitting at home watching Batman and Superman cartoons in our superhero pajamas. Is it immature to go watch this movie?. With that said, I did go see it but ill chime in with my review later.

As someone who didn't grow up reading comics the superhero movie trend that became popular in the 2000's is just becoming too much. I enjoyed the first original Spiderman and the Batman trilogy but it seems like every year now there's 3-4 superhero movies that are all basically the same. It's just been overdone.

Get ready for a ton of them

Edge of Tomorrow was a hell of a lot more fun than I expected. Groundhog Day as an action film is a great concept.

I also agree the superhero movie trend is getting ridiculous, but people keep paying to see it so they'll keep churning them out. We're even getting ANOTHER Spiderman reboot next year. Can't wait to see what happens to Uncle Ben this time...

Edge Of Tomorrow was good.  Sequel in the works.  I, too, am a sucker for superhero movies.  I liked the 2005 Fantastic 4 and Silver Surfer.  The director's cut of Daredevil is a much better movie.  Explains more and gives time to develop characters.

Even if not a big fan of the superhero films, I recommend Captain AMerica: Winter Soldier (it's essentially a remake of 3 Days of the Condor) and Guardians of the Galaxy (Star Wars with a 70's rock soundtrack)

I enjoyed the comics as a kid and enjoy the hero movies now but I can understand how someone who doesn't enjoy them can see it as an overload now... But with that said, this train ain't slowing down now because that's kinda the point of them now. I believe there's three current "series" of movies now and, assuming some of u didn't know this, they're all interconnected like a tv series would be so this trend is gonna continue.

I can see what he means. I'm not really thrilled by superhero movies, either. I love big, expensive, fun blockbusters, but I prefer more original storylines that aren't based on superheroes. It's worse that they keep rebooting things and spinning them off too. It's just too much so I usually just skip these movies.

I really liked The Edge of Tomorrow when it came out in summer 2014. I wish we had more movies like that. Apparently I'm the only person who feels that way because it made like no money.

Edge of Tomorrow was great btw

This movie was great- the batman was realistic and just like the comics. I don't know how to put spoiler tags on the board but there's a lot that was in this movie- batman uses guns- especially in the Dark Knight Returns series.

Batmans always used guns. I have comics of him with guns. Heck- his first couple of appearances he killed people by throwing them off skyscrapers and hanging them from a air plane.

Even in Nolans Batmans he killed people - even with guns. About 40 or so deaths.

The guns/ violent/ angry batman was that everyone complains about is coming from casual fans and marvel fanboys who expect everything to be lollipops and rainbows.

Batmans an evil, dark, demented son of a bitch that does what he has to do to prevent innocent lives from dying and prepares like no other for the slightly possible. He has a plan of attack for every hero out there. Even Wonder Woman.

I'll tell you what though, Lex was more Riddler and the story needed to be tightened up. But it was enjoyable. It needed more batman, more Alfred, less Lex and maybe a little more of superman. Lois was annoying- I could have lived with less of her too.

I thought it was great. If you like Man of Steel you'll like this I think. We really need a solo Batman movie and I really like Cavill as Superman.
