This is the reason we are presently in the wild card (Dodgers lost) despite losing Capps and Dee, and Stanton in a slump. Infield Defense. Even JT has improved a ton from last year.

Chucky Carr, one of my favorite Marlins of all time.

Its scary because I don't think this team has reached its full potential.

Don and Bonds have really impressed me. They seem to be daily involved with each player to. I say that because I don't recall so many spontaneous rest days off that come generally after a player has homered.  But it has worked.

I'm worried about the pen though . I hope we add a real leftie and another solid reliever.

This definitely has gone under the radar. Props to Dietrich doing a great job this year. Whatever he has gotten to he had made the plays. Best thing you can ask for from our guys is to just make the routine plays.

Yep. He hasn't been awful defensively as most of us expected. He has actually been fairly close to average.

Also, as bad as Hech has been with the bat, he has been tremendous defensively for the second straight year. It's good to see his defensive numbers finally lining up with the eye test.

Hech's bat can be tolerated with him being terrific in the field and the rest of the lineup hitting. Also makes a big difference to have your starting catcher hitting over 300 in the seven hole.  Kudos to Dietrich for his play at 2nd. Bour keeping it real at 1st. Prado a gold glover at 3rd if not for Arenado. Some feel good stuff here.

Hech is Alex Gonzalez. When we make the playoffs, get ready for the surprise walk off homer that's coming.

Who is the new Jeff Weaver?

I dunno, I'll ask@pollyvonwog and get back to you.

I feel like JT needs some mention on this topic. As a SS who was converted to catcher his defense last year was flat out awful. He has made huge strides behind the plate this year. His framing is still a work in progress to say the least, but I'd say he's gone from a D/F to a B/C grade in other aspects, which means a lot.
