Ever since Gordon put back in, the Marlins start losing

Featured Replies

Ever since Dietrich lost his job, the Marlins are a different team. He brought toughness and energy and a will to win. It was easily seen in the excitement of each game. You cannot replace "clutch" and it shows the Marlins have the same ole front office. I am really unhappy about this.Gordon made his bed. He should be traded. Instead he was rewarded. Really bad message. The Marlins had a chance to go all the way. Just when fans started to really think this time was different, the hope was pulled out from under us again. All just my opinion

You obviously haven't been watching the games. We weren't doing well with him in the line up due to his slump. His "toughness"is still in the dugout so I don't the point in this thread.

Dee Gordon has been tagged out on the basses a few times. Dietrich has been tagged out once. Waste of outs.

Yeah Dietrich doesn't get on base much anymore, that plus the fact he isn't trying to steal often. Dee is a shitty base runner so he shouldn't get the steal signal either.

Dietrich is fine at getting on base. Dee just needs to not get caught at first. Getting caught at first is the most frustrating thing.

This is reminiscent of the comments that we could land a #2 SP for Derek.  He isn't worth nearly as much as some people think, nor is he as good as those people think.

yeah he was very overvalued on this forum, but i also think you're undervaluing him a bit. His 2015 offensive #s with his 2016 defense is a very useful player (prob as useful as dee WAR wise).

His power outtage is pretty annoying, but back to your point, lots of free passes given to DD even though he's been absolutely awful

I am not saying he sucks... I am saying he was bad in July and he isn't worth a #2 SP.

DD is a guy that is found on all clubs who are usually in the hunt for a title. He usually gives you a decent AB, can start for a stretch if there's an injury (or suspension) and can provide some pop and he seems to work hard and bring some energy.  He's not an All-Star but he is an outstanding and very valuable bench piece.  I love the guy but i'm not so blind as to think he'd net a #2 SP (or even a #3) with the premium out there on pitching.

Yes, this is exactly how I view him.
