Cardinals acquired RHP Jason Marquis, RHP Adam Wainwright and LHP Ray King from the Cardinals for OF J.D. Drew and C/OF Eli Marrero. Reports out of St. Louis indicated that the Cardinals weren't very interested in Marquis, so he might be moved on to another team. That won't be the case with Wainwright and King. If Marquis stays, he could compete for the fifth spot in the St. Louis rotation. He'd be quite the sleeper.

No he's one of the top pitching prospects in the majors.

Drew May be Worth the Risk. But he is in (well now) a Pitching Dominant Division

And what the hell are the Cards going to do in the OF if they move Pujols to 1B? Robinson, Cox, Edmonds? lol. Edmonds will get injured and the other two suck balls. It will be a fun race between the Astros and Cubs...if the Astros get Clemens.

I wouldn't say RIPPED off as Drew has shown superstar numbers in limited ABs. It increases their risk/reward ratio though.

The braves got J.D. Drew? Oh man....This guy gets injured every 5 Games!

 

But he is a good hitter though. If he can stay healthy, he can produce good numbers.

Clemens is no longer a mid to high 90s fastball guy. In 2002 he threw 94-96 consistantly. He sucked though, and he ahd a good season last year, but his fastball is now consistant at 90-92.

 

Can he be good next year? I can't imagine him staying truly competitive, because he tires after a couple of innings. He should be moved to a john smoltz closer position, he has the stuff to pitch good, but it has to be less innings.
