September 11, 20169 yr It's not surprise they want to re-sign him. It's whether they're willing to put $15 million a year on the table to do so.
September 13, 20169 yr and what exactly are the odds of that? he's actually the perfect prototype marlin FA signing. Coming off a close to career high year, high batting average, completely unsustainable babip. He's like the perfect marlins FA overpay candidate. The marlins love overpaying for career high BABIPs. the good news is at least we got value for him the last couple years
September 13, 20169 yr and what exactly are the odds of that? I'm gonna guess they give him six years, probably with a full ntc too. Fingers crossed this gets done.
September 13, 20169 yr Four years is the max a team will give him this offseason. Three is more likely at a $15 million a year rate.
September 14, 20169 yr Author Who here would be in favor of a 2 year deal with a vesting 3rd year? Vesting based on PA I guess
September 14, 20169 yr Who here would be in favor of a 2 year deal with a vesting 3rd year? Vesting based on PA I guess IMO it's gonna take 3
September 14, 20169 yr I like the 2 with 3 vesting, wouldn't surprise me if he took that, with that said it wouldn't surprise me if the Marlins gave in to the 3 years guaranteed. I want two but wouldn't mind the 3 if its the only way to keep him. In terms of money, I don't care if they overpay. This team needs to overpay at some point.
