fanofthefish
His alleged PED use was pre-mandatory testing, no positives in the testing era so he's got that going for him oh that and three championships
Das Texan
I thought they only retired numbers once someone was a Hall of Famer.
fanofthefish
I thought they only retired numbers once someone was a Hall of Famer. That had been their policy, I think you had to retire a Red Sock (Fisk signed a one day deal) and be in the HOF, things changed when they retired Johnny Pesky's number, since then they've added Pedro and Boggs

Piazza31
If Ortiz ends up being a first ballot HOF, I'm going to be pretty fucking pissed. Here's a guy who failed the "lets find out if we need testing" test, and is looked at as a hero. A minor league player who burst on the scene right around the time testing became an issue and he failed that survey test. Meanwhile a player had to wait three years because he had pimples on his back. I'm happy for Pudge, but he's another one. Dropped 60lbs one offseason when testing began and first ballot. Now if Miggy drops 60lbs in one offseason, good for him- he needs to diet lol.
