(I'm being sarcastic in an attempt to bring up how ridiculous some people on this message board are.) That being said, this season was "over" before it began. This team was never going to make the playoffs with a starting rotation led by Edinson Volquez and Tom Koehler.

I respect Las Vegas oddsmakers enough to believe in the # of games they said we'd win in 2017 back in March (76 games). And those oddsmakers were not the only ones to have projected the Marlins poorly (PECOTA etc). Thats why I broke your balls when you proudly proclaimed that everyone had made fun of you when you so boldly predicted the Marlins would not be good. However, I'm not 12 years old so I'm not overreacting to this current downturn for the Marlins because I know baseball well enough to know that streaks happen and I would not be remotely surprised if the Marlins were a .500 team again in June/July/August (barring several major injuries). And "wild card contender" is a very subjective statement. The Marlins have arguably been a wild card contender like 4 of the last 5 years, no?
