Chen elects to stay with fish

I thought he had an opt out which meant he would have to do nothing to stay here but having to opt in means today was the first time he ever actually did something during his Marlins tenure. Congrats. Idiot.

Right, it was an opt-out. My bad, edited my post.

From another thread:

If (when?) Wei-Yin Chen exercises his option for 2018 through 2020, would the Marlins trade three years of Chen ($52 million), three years of Dee Gordon ($38 million) and two years of Marcell Ozuna (projected 2018 salary of $10.9 million) for a nothing prospect if the trade partner assumes the entire financial obligation of more than $100 million? Or would the Marlins insist on a valuable asset in any trade of Ozuna?

Investigate Mike Hill's bank account. I think Chen would like to send some money to Hill's one.

Chen and Hill... these useless piece-of-shit must be cursed forever. A remaining 3y/52M contract, what a ton of scrap.

Chen sticking it to the Marlins... I mean sticking with the Marlins

I didn't like the signing at first but hey at least he is loyal :SlowClap

I hope he finds himself and we keep him so that when we are ready for the real firesale next year, we can trade him without offering up collateral.
