Rockies trying a SUPER BULLPEN

I will never understand team's signing so many relievers to multi year contracts that can be found for close to the league minimum so easily.  I understand if a guy is dominant or even really good, but so many of these relievers signing these multi year deals are so fucking average.

Spending a lot of money on relievers in free agency is a colossal waste of resources.

depends on the type of reliever.  Spending it on average relievers who dont strike many guys out like ziegler and Tazawa is fucking stupid.  But if you throw money at dominant closers when you're close to contention it's worth it.  I've just seen way too many multi year deals for utterly replaceable relievers this offseason.

Rockies going all in, most of their starting pitching being cost controlled helps a lot.

Rockies having competent starters unlike the Marlins last year also helps, a small factor nobody seemed to account for when railing on the Marlins for their failed super bullpen.

Except that the Rockies starters aren’t good either, but ok.

Their starters are pretty solid with room to grow in guys like Gray, Hoffman, and they have Pint in their system.  Not a great rotation, but better than their numbers indicate due to pitching half of their games in colorado.

Rockies do not have a Mike Hill ,they know what they do

In 1999, Baseball America named Hill as one of 10 people in baseball whose prominence will increase significantly in the first decade of the new century. It quoted strong sources who said he would turn into a successful general manager before the 2010 season. That year, he began working for the Colorado Rockies, serving as their Director of Player Development

He started with the Rockies funny enough.
