SilverBullet
I've said this before, it's their own fault. No matter what else is said, them allowing Loria to make deductions from the profit sharing was stupid. It should have been a set and unnegotiable percentage amount. cyoung
Miami-Dade needs to let it go. The more they pursue this, the more everybody will be reminded that Loria bent them over.
Entendu
As a default position, I want the government to lose all cases like these.
SonOfJack
It was pretty ridiculous that the current ownership was named as defendants in this as it would all be on Loria.

Barry Jackson is probably the lead prosecutor. I'm surprised this hasn't already been spun off as "Miami Dade already suing Jeter"

SilverBullet
A financial advisory firm founded by a former vice chairman of the Marlins got a $30 million cut of the Marlins sale and Loria deducted that from what would have been part of the profits shared with the county from the sale. Again, it was in writing that Loria was allowed to do this, so how is that his fault? I hope the county loses this lawsuit big time for their ineptitude. fish20
Loria is such a scumbag and the city of miami is a shit show.
SilverBullet
Loria is such a scumbag In this specific case he isn't doing anything the county/city didn't give him permission to do. I have zero problem with him taking advantage of the politician's ineptitude for this one.

I have zero problem with him taking advantage of the politician's ineptitude for this one. Especially since politicians screw over their constituents on a daily basis. While this ultimately screws constituents in the form of tax dollars, it's the idiot politicians with egg on their face. And that's worth the tax dollars.
