Again though, tough love is a lot different than being unwilling to listen to other people's opinions and shoulder the blame when you are, in fact, dead wrong.  The only two articles I can recall regarding him - now a year apart, paint a picture of a dude who just sounds like an ignorant blowhard who refuses to listen to the advice of others unless they agree with him. 

 

Can't say for sure - I guess we'll know more in a few years when we really see what he's been able to do overall.

 

I agree... I'm not saying being an asshole is the right way to run an organization... just kinda thinking outside the box and saying maybe, if any team "needed" this, it was the Marlins. It could be done respectfully for sure though, I'm not promoting the negativity.

 

 

I will say that these articles are probably very right to an extent because, yeah some former employees with sour grapes might exaggerate the hate but at the same time if everyone is saying something negative and no one is saying anything positive then that probably says a lot when you actually do read so many articles and tweets and stuff like that which do point out "the good guys." Mike Hill is honestly a great example. We rip him but I've heard/read multiple times about what a swell guy he is. Things like that do get out and if the stuff on Denbo is negative from multiple sources then it's probably more true than not.

 

With that said, that doesn't mean he can't help make this organization a winner if his goal truly is that. I can't imagine this guy is literally a dick 24/7. Maybe he just has a short fuse and lost his shit a few times during the transitional times.

 

 

One last thing, because I saw this said on Twitter and it did make sense to me... funny how someone works for the Yankees and is praised for being so great and helping to create the current great Yankees but all of a sudden the same guy joins the Marlins and a bunch of hate comes out about him. 

 

It fits the narrative...

 

Mike Trout can be the greatest player of this generation but if he somehow becomes a Marlin get ready for everyone to blast him for the dumbest shit.

 

 

Reading this about Gary Denbo with the timing of the Chip Bowers firing does not sit well with me right now. Attendance is god awful. The Marlins minor league depth had improved a lot under Denbo, but will his moves eventually translate to success in the majors? Time will tell.

Well, I'm assuming he does sleep. Getting the right amount of sleep does play a role in keeping fit and trim.
