Joe is delusional.  So the guy had 10 decent games, let's bring him up?  No.  Leave him down there for a few more weeks.  After the debacle that has been his season+ with the big team, I want to see him rake for at least a month before I consider bringing him back up.

Gotta love his line further down in the comments to his tweet - someone asked "is that enough of a sample size?" (My exact point), and his response is "yes, bc I wouldn't have said it if it wasn't"

10 games doesn't overcome a year and a half of absolute terrible play.

Can we get a new beat guy?

Frisaro does have a point with "is Brinson any worse than Berti/Herrera in the outfield?"

No, but Brinson is projected to have a future with the team.  Those other guys are just there.  I'd rather get Brinson straightened out for the long term than trot him out there sucking forever just because he's no worse than Berti/Herrera.

I used to think his demotion was all about letting him figure things out in AAA. I kind don’t anymore.  I feel like the front office is using this as an opportunity to show the players that “hey anyone with options can get sent down” because they’re supposedly all about winning and putting the best players out there (supposedly).

It can simultaneously do both.  Help his development, and show other players that bad play won't be accepted/there'll be accountability.

Why is Dean seemingly blacklisted?

He's torching AAA all year long, an OPS of 1.127

Yet, when the Marlins called him up they gave him only six games. He went 4-4 on one of those days even!

Why isn't he being given a chance to play every day at the MLB level right now? What did he do to end up on the shitlist?

You’re right.

He’s too good

My guess for the immediate future is that it's because he doesn't play CF. There are enough people filling the corner positions right now. It's CF where there's a black hole being filled by infielders. If he's still in AAA a few months from now then I have no answer for you.

Because Mattingly is a fucking god awful manager?

And is absolutely the worst/wrong guy you can have for a fucking rebuild, but the Marlins in their cheapness (its true), decided hey what the fuck does it matter, it doesnt matter at all.

Cut bait with Grandyman.  But Jeter wont.

Because LOYALTY!

Donnie doesn't make roster moves, baseball operations can call Dean back up regardless of how Donnie uses him.

The point being...

Why have Dean up with the marlins rotting away on the bench if the idiotic manager isnt going to actually play him.  It does Dean no fucking good to just be on the bench, and he will benefit far more from regular at bats.

I fully expect Ramirez to be sent out sometime soon for this same reason.

I agree.  It's weird.  I'd rather see him than some of these other people we've trotted out.

I mean.  Would it really matter if you have a corner outfielder playing center if the alternative is an infielder playing center?

I thought Das doesn't watch the Marlins... now he knows when and how Donnie uses all the players?

Using Grandy virtually everyday is beyond moronic.

He should be DFA'd.  He does nothing to this team and is blocking someone younger who could be playing.  He has no value.  He wont have any value.  Cut bait and move on with life.

I will say, I find it weird how whenever other teams sign a veteran guy, they're always able to flip them at the deadline for a good haul.  When we sign them, they crash and burn and we wind up with peanuts.
