Jordan Yamamoto getting called up

Featured Replies

Urena is the scheduled starter tomorrow.  I wonder if there is a trade close?  Or could be an injury to someone else on the staff.

Unexpected but why the hell not. Welcome to the big leagues Jordan!

Trying to get more confirmation from the regular beat writers as I don't this guy too well....

Jordan is considered destined for a relief role anyway so this will be a brief nice trial run of it I suppose. I like him a lot but that's been the thought from many all along.

He's been groomed as a starter the entire time though so even if he ends up in the pen you don't build him up as a starter and then never give him a chance to start.

Yep he should get a chance, I agree.  Seems like he's getting it, for at least one start anyway.

I am a fan of Yamamoto and it was his scheduled day to start, but I'd really like to see what Gallen can do in the bigs, I don't see the benefit of keeping him in AAA.

I agree a million percent...I think the team sees right now Hernandez and Yamamoto (since they are both on the 40 man) as guys they can bring up and down from the minors when needed, while they are grooming Gallen to be a rotation piece, so I see him coming up when they have a spot that they can give him long term. IE a season long injury or trade.

This should deflect some attention from the fact that after an outstanding road trip, the Marlins have come home to Miami and thrown up all over their cleats.

This is exactly it. Elieser and Yamamoto are getting spot starts meant to be short term only. They don't wanna use Gallen for that.
