And here comes a strike.

And not just a strike from the players. If Manfred decides to entirely walk away from Minor League Baseball, now there will be an even more insane lack of balance of power since all Minor League players would essentially become free agents. Farm systems that have been built up would be gone.

Manfred is ruining baseball and it's becoming more and more obvious by the day. He's becoming very much "I have to get my way or else."

This is horrible.

Also Manfred has been big on introducing baseball to more kids recently... doesn't he realize that screwing over the minor leagues will severely impact and exposure that kids get to the sport?

He's acting like many people do these days and saying "I'm not 100% getting my way so it's going to just get worse for those who oppose me."

Whoa I didn't think about that

I could be wrong on that, as they may technically have a contract with the Major League Club (don't they? As the MLB club controls their promotions and such), but suddenly instead of a 25/26 or 40 man roster, it has to become a ... 200 man roster? Manfred isn't thinking AT ALL about any of this. Players can no longer properly develop within a system implemented by the main team.

MLB would likely create their own new development system I assume or let teams set up contracts with independent league teams or something? Unless this is all just an empty threat anyway.

This feels like something that can't actually get approved because it's so stupid that maybe we don't have to worry about it.

I could kiss you right now

Manfred is an idiot and playing a game he wont win.

there is no fucking way they will eliminate these partnerships, its Manfred trying to get something out of the slave system known as Minor League baseball.

It's truly serious when Das and I can see eye to eye on stuff.
