February 25, 20206 yr lol why are you Marlins fans so excited the Marlins are just gonna have the first two rounds and then trade the third round for prospects when it gets too expensive lol right lol
February 25, 20206 yr This is amazing... great job on new ownership even though the old ownership got this too it feels like new ownership did their part to get more of this. FYI its actually 4 rounds, not sure why nobody has figured this out. Its Pool D of the first round, then the quarterfinals round between the winners of Pools C and D, and then the semi final round, and then the finals... that's 4, not 3.
February 25, 20206 yr The games at Marlins Park always seemed to generate more noise than other NA parks.
February 25, 20206 yr I went to every single game at Marlins Park in the last WBC, what a blast, what a weekend, 6 games in one weekend. Loved it so much. Gonna have to pick and choose this time around though because damn thats a lot of games.

Or do you have the format?
February 25, 20206 yr Maybe they changed it up? Or do you have the format? I'm going off exactly what they said... they announced four rounds and even gave the dates but then everyone is saying its three rounds. First round, quarter finals, semi finals, and finals. I'm pretty sure they are counting the finals and semi finals as one round but that's stupid, that's not how a tournament works. That's like saying the ALCS/NLCS is the same round as the World Series.

February 25, 20206 yr They call both the semi finals and finals, the championship round I believe. And those games were always played in the same park. It is odd to consider them as one round, but that's what they've done in the past.
February 25, 20206 yr I’m a bit ignorant on the structure of the tournament but does that mean that there’s is a chance for the Cuban team to play here? Cause i can see half of the players disappearing from their hotels in the middle of the night lol

Cause i can see half of the players disappearing from their hotels in the middle of the night lol There's a high chance yes but it depends on the bracketing of the pools. All of Pool D will play here, only the winners of the other pools will play here but of course we don't know the Pools yet.

February 25, 20206 yr That sign has amazed me since childhood. I've always thought that something horribly gross had to have happened for any pool to ever post that.
February 26, 20206 yr 9 of the 20 teams will play at Marlins Park's WBC games. All 5 of Pool D, the top 2 of Pool C, and the top 2 finalists from Pools A and B. Obviously not sure who those will be yet but for anyone wondering who will play here we know we'll have a really solid collection of teams and a higher chance of seeing most of the Latin teams. I know the initial pools are constructed primarily geographically so, with other first rounds happening in both Japan and Taiwan, we can safely say that the four Asian teams (Japan, China, Chinese Taipei, and Korea) will be in Pools A and B. Mexico is most likely in Pool C in Arizona. The rest aren't as clear. Plus the last four teams to qualify haven't done so yet so depending who those are can cause rearranging of the pools as well.
