Crazy how when the ball hits a runner running towards 1st on a grounder fielded behind him by the catcher, they call interference on the runner, but on a potential play at the plate, not so much.

Sandy is a good pitcher.  He might even be a very good pitcher, but he'll never be a great pitcher until he learns to miss more bats.  He needs to know how to get a K when he needs one.  He has the stuff to be great. Has to execute.

Force out situation, but also, the ball would have to hit the runner in fair territory only - if the runner is in foul territory and it hits him on a force out throw? Nothing that can be done. He reaches safely.

I predict that Alfaro will either homer off him or strikeout against him tonight.

Looks like he will have his last at bat against Ray this inning. Worth noting that Alfaro is the only batter without a K in the game. His live K rate is 30.0%. If he can go his next 2 plate appearances without one, it would be a career low -under 28.9% (2017). Considering the league wide rate is up 2.6% up since 2017, this is something to keep an eye on. Still early as he only has 50 PA including tonight.
