i dunno..when he loses control he seems to REALLY lose it....glad he was able to reign it back in finally just in the nick of time.  If you look at the Cardinals game you could see he was spot on those first two batters and then blap...it vanished and he couldn't quite get it back.  Don't get me wrong, i freaking love the guy this year as you can see he has some seriously electric stuff after an offseason working with Mel.

Yes, I agree with ya - I think it becomes a thing though that he's TRYING to get the strikeout, like I said, and trying to avoid a mistake. Instead he should just focus on throwing strikes. His stuff is that good, he doesn't have to force it. Be in and around the zone, "pitch to contact" even and come what may. Not comparing the two directly but when JDF decided to "pitch to contact," his strikeout rate skyrocketed. Luzardo could do the same.
