Super Bowl thread

I'd have been perfectly fine not watching it, but got invited to a party my brother's girlfriend was hosting, so I went to it.

1) Parties where you're the only "outsider"/person not part of the friend group are awkward

2) I didn't really care about the game or who won - at least it was a competitive game/not a blowout, but that was a bad call at the end, and stupid way for it to end.

3) The commercials, as with the last few years, weren't any good.

4) Halftime show was just ok.

Overall, I'd rather have stayed home and not watched at all lol, but I didn't want to be rude and decline the invite, but maybe I should've....

The commercials are no longer as groundbreaking as they used to be. In the past Super Bowls commercials were unique, like mini movies, and regular commercials were just like "hi, this is our product." Not anymore, now it feels like all commercials are now as creative as Super Bowl commercials. Plus you can see them now immediately afterwards on YouTube. In the past it was can't miss because if you missed it at the Super Bowl you had no way of seeing it again and might not see it again for a long time. Also it feels like they air them again all the time as opposed to just being able to watch it that one night only.

That's a good point.

I also feel like some commercials get put out BEFORE the super bowl too.

The Eagles CB who got called for it even said it was a legit hold and he was just hoping not to get flagged for it though.

Yeah, I saw he said that. Good on him. Just wish they hadn't called it cause it decided the game rather than the players, but it was well played and called otherwise.
