jesus h christ.  I hope morlando proves me wrong but what in the ever living fk are we picking him here.

I just don't get it.  cam caminiti no brainier, Honeycutt a moon shot pick.

wtf are we even doing?

am I as a 2 year novice sabermatrician smarter than a front office of a MLB team? honestly starting to think so.

And that's kinda scarey.

hf.

My guess is that they took a cheaper guy so that they can spend more in later rounds

Most of the guys I saw the Marlins linked to got picked before them, like Tibbs, Smith, and King

brandon Payne, next pick, 17yrs old. what Marlins needed.

if saving money ok, but wtaf, seriously.

take the catcher from sam Houston if you are saving money.  for real really???

This is a bad draft overall so I don't really know why they didn't take someone better early

no offense to you sir, but Jesus we are embarassing ourself.  you don't take him there with the narrow draft pool.

f'in stupid pick. horrible.  19 yr old HS guy, cant wait for him to tear up the fcl then flame out in jupiter. it is written.

Max Meyer was a "horrible pick" too especially as Asa Lacy was still available, among like two other guys.

Look how that turned out.

Nobody knows how the draft will turn out. He'll be fine.

I'm just saying, PJ has had exit velos tracked over 110.

Lefty Stanton. Give him a minute. Let Bendix cook.

Best case scenario.  Hope we are wrong.  Shit pick imo. Keep him away from Stone Garrett's scissors.

Total crapshoot. Agreed.  Would probably still take Lacy over Meyer today.  Would love to see Max  in Loan Depot before I die this year though.

The last HS outfielder the Marlins took in the 1st round was Connor Scott, who never hit

Correct and he was a reach in that draft and had numerous red flags.  But we were cheap in scouting and some guy saw him hit two dongs once.

Most of these orgs are not stupid and are taking HS kids in a "weak" draft.  If you can develop hitters then it's worth taking  guy 9 months behind in birth and then develop him.

We have no idea how to develop hitters so need home run prospects that don't need tweaking.
