Pre opening day optimism makes me say stupid things sometimesThat’s a fair point!Although even just looking back at 2024 opening day lineup in general. That lineup seemed stacked in comparison.C - Nick Fortes1B - Bell2B - Arraez3B - BurgerSS - Tim AndersonLF - Nick GordonCF - Jazz ChisholmRF - Jesus SanchezDH - DLCCrazy that it’s already been one year and well how fast that team and the season fell apart. Because on paper that looked like one of the most solid lineups the Marlins had in years as most of us expected TA to play decent and for Jazz to have an all star season etc.Ugh.. I don’t want to think about last season. Or this season. 😂

F that.Let's go through your list.....Accumulate prospects - he accumulated something I guess.....Promote them.....I guess?Make a few key signings. ❌Nope.Proactive extensions. ❌Nope.Draft well......eh, questionable, but I'll give you that this takes time to evaluate. If they're truly trying to accumulate prospects and accelerate the process, they'd be making some more impactful FA trade deadline type signings, especially for some of these players that linger on the market. Like we see most other teams do when rebuilding. But Bruce won't even approve that. So instead, we trot out computer generated players and keep the status quo of being terrible.Kim Ng was effecivley given 1.5 drafts to evaulate her job running the show. with that logic its 100% ok to judge Bendix this summer on his draft successes/ failures

March 27Mar 27 Team Record: 72-90Leaders in each category below (totals in parantheses) -Hits: Edwards (187)HR: Conine (23)RBI: Conine (78)Runs Scored: Edwards (92)Stolen Bases: Edwards (67)Wins: Sandy (12)Losses: Eddy Cabrera (10)Saves: Faucher (27)I am probably more optimistic about the offense than most other people. I don't think it was completely a fluke that they had the best offense of the Sherman era in the 2nd half of last year. The analytics people know what they are doing. I am a bit worried about the starting rotation, and think that the bullpen will have to carry the load all season, though I do think we will have one of the better pens this year. The offense might hit the fewest homers in the NL this year, but I think hard line drives are more important in a park as big as ours, and we do have some guys that can hit liners with high exit velos. I do think we will be in the top half of the NL in Walks and will be competative in hits and doubles which will elevate the runs scoring to around 10th or so in the NL. Nothing spectacular, but a marked improvement on years prior. The pitching won't be good enough to get the 10th best offense into the playoffs or above .500 unless we get as lucky as we did in 2023 with run differential. But definate improvements over 2024.
