July 13, 20251 yr Author Jacksonville is competing for the playoffs so they will probably keep the core together until September. That might not be the best reason though. When the Marlins are officially out of it could make for some tough calls. Definitely think Johnston deserves some at bats after/if they finish the playoffs. He is not part of the future but he deserves to be able to say he played in the big leagues based on his service time and results. Would be the right/classy thing to do.

July 29, 20251 yr Only reason to keep him in September and DFA after the season would be to hold him as an injury replacement. If he's not gonna be a part of your long term plans, I say give someone else a shot.
