Tropical Storm Chris
I am deeply disturbed by this storm. All interests in Cuba and Florida need to watch this very carefully over the next few days. B4P, keep up the excellent work. :thumbup

The End of the 2005 Hurricane Season
Finally. The season from hell is less than a half hour from ending. I cannot believe what we the forecasters and you the citizens have gone through the last several months. I'd like to thank Ed Rappaport and my staff. What a job they did! Without their work hundreds of thousands could have died in the wake of one of these monster storms. I'd also like to thank members of MarlinsBaseball.com like, Beinfest4Prez, CapeFish, PBMarlin, RossInfoMan, Moneyball, and the rest, the informative threads you provided kept all of MarlinsBaseball.com updated on these violent storms. Finally, the local media, you brought a new meaning to "Up-to-the-minute coverage" with your nonstop newscasts that went on the air days before the storm and went off days after. Hopefully next year will not be as bad as many of us have predicted. As for me, I look forward to spending the next month with my wife, catching up on much need sleep, and other leisure activities. This is Max Mayfield, over and out. See you next year!

Good job Jack the kid needed it.

Typical Offense
More than 50 games this year inwhich the O has scored 2 runs or fewer. Think about it we win half of those games and we're the best team in baseball.

The Celebs of MB.com
Got to jet, have to go on the air with those bozos in Channel 4 in 7 minutes. 955154 They should be interviewing me! 955170 Behave yourself you hurricane. 955542 Be quiet you feeble old man. I happen to be a powerful and sexy hurricane bigger than most US states. It's my hot water, I'll do what I want. 955592 When I combine my mindpower with Ed's we can defeat you you well-organized hurricane. You are just a mass of swirling clouds. Remember: One atomic bomb in the one-eyed monster and we save the US billions in damage. Behave yourself, now.

The Celebs of MB.com
It's very nice to get recognition and be considered a 'Celebrity'. Got to jet, have to go on the air with those bozos in Channel 4 in 7 minutes. 955154 We are on TV so much we must be considered celebrities. Ed, fan mail to your name is unbelieveable. We had to rent another P.O.D. to store it ( :o ). I might be invited to the Oscar's next year.

The Official "Hurricane Emily" Watch Thread
TW, although it is worth watching. Never in the recorded history of the Atlantic basin has a storm formed so far south (10 degrees north) in July. Not many storm form that far south PERIOD. But this is 2005 and I wouldn't be surprised if a storm forms so far south. Link

Violence In Video Games
I've played violent videogames all my life, and look at me...turned out just fine. Maybe they should make videogames about street cleanups and donating sandwiches to the Salvation Army... 850868 Or flying a C-130 into a Cat 5 hurricane... Violence in video games is so over-rated.

The Official Home Run Derby Thread
I believe it starts at 8. To answer UMFan's question, Ichiro is no longer participating. Hee Seop Choi is replacing him. 850786 Choi was always in...and he is from Korea, not Japan. 850833 South Korea.

You can keep comming in, the latest stuff if right there on page 1. 850830 I agree. TimeWrecker is doing a very good job. Lets actually talk about this storm from now on.

The Official "Hurricane Emily" Watch Thread
I must back up my colleague. Hey Cape, You've got aout 150 members in MarlinsBaseball.com that can't stand your bogus hurricane site. Leave the hurricane forecasting to the pros. They are the "Crapfish Club".? :thumbup Regards, Max Mayfield, NHC Director Ed is a teriffic forecaster and one of the best in the business. 850773 To the fake NHC director, Ed grandstanded on Tampa television that morning and did only 1 TV appearance at all that A.M. on Fort Myers TV. The storm then quickly made a turn and where was the NHC? Not available because he was booked. The mets on TV here did play-by-play, without support of the NHC, for the entire duration of that day. The NHC didn't protect us during Charley. The investment by Waterman and Fort Myers Broadcasting did. People here know that and that is why the mets here had to calm down people after the storm who wanted the NHC to explain just why they did not do their job when it came to explaining the storm data. 850804 What the hell were we supposed to do? Jeez people whine for the stupidest things without knowing the inner workings of the NHC. We have a busy schedule. We actually have to do work. We had a communications break down. If we could have done that day again things would have been done differently. No reason to hate Rappaport. He's a quality guy and I'm sure we regrets how things were handled last year.

If it follows the current track this thing we be ripped apart going over Hispanola. Good new for the eastern seaboard but bad news for those poor Hispanolans. Hopefully this thing doesn't develop but that's wishful thinking.
