I think JT, Castro, and Deets are gone. C- 1B- Cooper 2nd- Diaz SS- Riddle/Rojas 3B- Anderson (plz) LF- CF- Brinson RF- Harrison (eventually) SPs- Smith, Lopez, Sandy, Neidert, Richards Fill in the gaps and replace the trash with whoever we get from the trades and cheap vets. It's going to be horrible, but we really need at least 2 of those SPs to take the next step, and you HAVE to hit on the JT trade or else this team won't compete for the forseeable future.

I don't think about you.

Dumb by Urena but 5-6 games is enough. Mattingly handled it well. No point in the front office commenting on it to the media. I'm sure they talked to Braves' management privately.
-
You guys keep derailing this thread. I'm just trying to appreciate Monte Harrison's 37% K rate.
-
The arbitrary 5 year window is when you'd expect a team to be competing for championships if everything went well. You should be able to tell 2-3 years in though whether the rebuilding is any good. Red flags: no elite prospects, almost all valuable trade assets are gone, top prospects aren't performing, you have the same gm as before, your head of baseball ops has no track record.

We'll probably have a better read of the situation in 2027.

Obviously I don't know if It'll work out or not, but nothing so far, except for the trade for signing money, has me excited. I just think the whole premise of this thread is ridiculous. We're far from knowing whether our pitching is any good.
-
Morrison was a great prospect that we were justifiably excited about and we have no one like him, thats my point. Hermida works too. If we can't get an exciting prospect after trading everyone good on our team (whether it's jeters fault or not) then why on earth would anyone think the rebuild is going well?
-
We've traded Stanton, Yelich, Ozuna, Gordon, Bour, Phelps, and Ramos and not one of the guys we've gotten back are as exciting as Jose, Stanton, Yelich, and Morrison were in the minors. Negativity police don't want to hear this. @Erick tells the truth. It's the only thing he knows how to do.

Who even plays first now

Marlins trade Ziegler to D-Backs for Tommy Eveld
EricOwens! replied to SilverBullet's topic in Miami Marlins
Looks alrite -
Chavis had 3 disappointing seasons, had an amazing breakout season last year, and then was busted for roids. Sketchy, Groome is all projection, hasn't had any minor league success yet and just had Tommy John. Neither of these guys should be the only piece coming back for Steckenrider.

Marlins scouting Yadier Alvarez, Dodgers RHP prospect.
-
Hope so, although I feel like it's been a heavy buyer's market
-
For some reason I have a feeling we're not trading anyone
-
We've left Bronson out to dry all season
-
Bearclaw trade for sure assuming the value is fair but idk if we'll get good enough value for Conley or Steck. They might have to produce for another year before anyone is willing to give top prospect for them, especially Conley. There's always the chance someone falls in love with them and is willing to take a risk and if that's the case then trade them.

Nationals Recently "Checked In" on J.T. Realmuto
EricOwens! replied to SongInTheAir's topic in Miami Marlins
Because he's not worth it or because the nats won't agree? -
Looks like a low 20's farm system
-
His swing looks long, left handed Brinson is actually exactly what I thought of when I first saw him. Whatever. Hope he works out.
-
Yeah management isnt helping at all. They need to send him down now and not bring him up again until September (assuming he's at least decent in AAA). If the theory about keeping him up until the throwback series is correct then that's laughable.
-
I know everyone wants to say he's young and he'll rebound but he has been on a historically bad run considering he is (was) our top prospect. He doesn't even have a good approach, he looks lost. We should be really worried.
-
If you can get decent value for Bour, Castro, Strailey, and Bearclaw then trade them. I'd try to hold onto Rojas though for now.

Greg Cote challenges Jeter to spend on Realmuto and Machado
EricOwens! replied to SilverBullet's topic in Miami Marlins
We shouldn't listen to Cote because he looks like Loria.
