What would you consider to be a great season this year?
EricOwens! replied to fish20's topic in Miami Marlins
Outside of the obvious hope that our prospects do well, Conley, Urena, and Rojas having good seasons would be cool -
No more threads based off Frisaro analysis please

Straily glad he wasn’t traded and agrees with the rebuilding plan
EricOwens! replied to Admin's topic in Miami Marlins
If you signed a contract with your employer and they then went and fired everyone who knew how to do their job and told you you'd have to work with incompetent people for the next 3 years you'd be looking for a new job too if you could. Stanton and Yelich are elite/great players and don't want to waste their prime on a bad team. Straily is an above average player who is all of a sudden one of this teams most valuable players and hasn't gotten a big contract yet. Their situations aren't comparable. If Straily was Scherzer he'd probably want out too. Look I'm happy Straily wants to be here but I never understood the Stanton and Yelich bashing for requesting a trade. They'd probably be gone even if they didn't request a trade. -

When your as good as Stanton and Yelich you can demand trades from shit teams. Straily has to boot lick cuz his ERA isn't low enough. -
Once you make the playoffs you're a legit WS contender. We could've made the playoffs with Darvish and another mid rotation piece. It's silly to think otherwise. Doesn't mean the rebuild was a bad idea.

2018 Roster vs 2013 Roster: Which is worse?
EricOwens! replied to SilverBullet's topic in Miami Marlins
The opening day lineup was worse in 2013 but when you add Yelich and Ozuna 2013 is probably better. SP is better in 2013, RP is better now. Idk overall it's a tossup. -
Martes, the guy we traded for Cosart lol

Taiwan is a true fan who was just frustrated and didn't know if he wanted to wake up at dawn to watch the marlins while they lose 100 games. He persisted though. Makes "people" like D*s look even worse.

Trading guys like Ozuna, Yelich, and Realmuto is probably the easiest thing about the rebuild though. Getting talent back for them should be expected. Hill won't change my opinion of him until he shows he can find value in FA and make good trades for MLB talent down the road. Cashner, Rodney, Latos, Chen, Tazawa, Ziegler.... ugh

Do you have an interesting "secondary team" in mind for 2018?
EricOwens! replied to SilverBullet's topic in Miami Marlins
Nah I was just catching up on this thread and saw Das say he's been a lifelong Astros fan since 2017 -

wow i hate das -
Don't blame him. If you dont want to trade him then dont trade him. Not difficult. Only becomes a problem if he starts acting up in the clubhouse.

Yelich says "No hard feelings" and "Hang in there"

You guys are forgetting that this is a clown franchise. -

A future Yankee hall of famer vs a tenured MLB executive vs a man who quit on his favorite team Really makes you think

Mike Hill
-
Might just get older guys like Polanco, Pierre, and Kotchman to fill in any holes
-
So Hernandez and Graves must stay on the 25 man correct?
-
Glad Jeter kept Hill. Why do people hate him?

He doesn't have samsons job lmao Everything on the field runs through him. He's not working the phones but he's the one putting the general strategy together. The analytics thing was from a quote he made when he first bought the team.
