  1. I think the font-size for the main thread links are a bit too large. If you haven't visited the site in a while, all the new/updated threads are bold and it makes it a bit strong to look at. Might want to drop it down a notch. Great job on the rest of the re-design, looks great.
  2. Ha, I assume Opa Locka is in Florida. Im from NC and im not sure if we have any New Era Stores. Its frustrating that New Era would ruin, in my eyes atleast, a perfectly good "authentic" hat by putting their logo where it never was. I could even take their logo if it was the same base color as that part of the hat, but in the black it just looks bad.
  3. I'll miss ya Amazing. Don't pull any of those out of your a*$ plays when you're playing the fish.
  4. The Marlins on Tuesday announced that the front of their gray road uniforms will read "Marlins" instead of "Florida." An "F" logo patch will also be removed from the uniforms' left sleeves. Read the full story. Slowly changing to the Miami Marlins.
  5. Congrats Cogs! Didn't think he had a chance to win it since the media doesn't pay any attention to the Marlins, but looks like they're smarter then we thought. Chris will be on 790 later today for those that are interested.
  6. Nate Bump That brought a smile to my face since he's a fellow Penn Stater. I miss seeing Nate Bump pitch for the fish. Hell, I almost bought a Nate Bump jersey but never did. I haven't really followed him since he left the team, I wonder where he is now.
  7. I'm down for a rally. I think they got one push left in them. Hopefully it won't come too late. LET'S GO FISH! say LET'S GO FISH! LET'S GO FISH!
  8. And don't forget the Yankees used to have red in their unies once apon a time. They're 2ndary circle logo has red all over it, though I like it. It looks like this below.
  9. That is hilarious. You get the feeling the Marlins are a bit under the skin of the Cubs?
  10. They love talking about Cox and his mitt lol. It does make sense though, and instead of helmets (though that's not a bad idea) they should have the 1st and 3rd base coaches with gloves out there for protection.
  11. Was anyone watching the game last night when they showed sketches of the new ball park? To me it looked like the seats were teal, which I know had to be wrong from the other renderings we've seen. Wasn't quite sure what was going on with that.
  12. What's the weather looking like down there? It's raining here in Boynton. I wonder if they'll get the game in.
  13. Didn't last year they do a reversal of announcers in both series? As in, the Rays guys did the games at the Marlins, and the Marlins guys do the games at St. Pete. Unless I'm completely mis-remembering (thank you Rodger ), I thought that was a nice touch. This seems a bit much.
  14. Anybody know when this happened? I thought something was going on in the 8th inning when Freddie forgot to make the switch. Everybody stood up and was looking towards the stands, but I was on the other side so I couldn't really see what was going on.
  15. Can someone tell me what the long holdup was between when Coghlan got subbed (and the one strike on Jeter) in the 8th? First De Aza came out, then ran back in for Hermida. It looked like something was going on in the stands, but with everybody standing up couldn't quite tell what was going on. Apparently, De Aza came out as a defensive replacement for Coghlan. He'd pinch hit in the bottom half of the 7th inning, and Fredi wanted him to stay in and play the field, then put the pitcher in Coghlan's batting spot. However, Nunez already threw one pitch before De Aza came out to replace Coghlan. So, Girardi argued (successfully) that De Aza couldn't come back into the game, since a pitch had already been thrown and De Aza wasn't out in the field. The umps agreed, and forced Fredi to use another bench player. Thanks, I guess that's what you miss by actually being at the game lol (unless you listen to the radio broadcast). Same thing happened with CC's injury and I didn't find out what really happened till i was in the car going home. I like Jeter's quote haha: ?I still don?t know what happened,? Jeter said. ?I play in the American League for a reason.?
  16. Yankees fans need to learn to shut up when you lose a game and a series and not answer everything with "we've got 26 rings" Ha! They are so annoying. I went on Friday and there was this one guy who had a seat right above the Yanks dugout who literally stood up each time one of our pitchers threw strikes and he tried arguing balls to the ump. EACH AND EVERY TIME. Amazing. I think I like the Mets fans better. It pains me to say that. I'm a Yankee fan first, Marlins fan second and I actually agree lol. The fans I encountered at today's game reminded me a bit more like Mets/Jets fans rather then true Yankee fans. No respect, just loud and obnoxious. One was chanting at Hanley "Future Yankee!!!" and I just laughed. Can someone tell me what the long holdup was between when Coghlan got subbed (and the one strike on Jeter) in the 8th? First De Aza came out, then ran back in for Hermida. It looked like something was going on in the stands, but with everybody standing up couldn't quite tell what was going on.
  17. Sucks Sun Sports isn't airing this game in HD. We even got teased (by Tommy I think) by it in the opening lol. Since I'm a Yankees fan 1st (and Marlins fan 2nd) I won't be posting much here during these games. West definitely looked intimated by the Yanks his first time around. It was also nice seeing the Yankees jump over West since they didn't do that at all against the Nats new pitchers they haven't seen before. Looks like West settled down a bit till this inning, now runners on 2nd and 3rd no out. Yay! Pinto's coming in. Only time of the year I'm glad to see him coming in lol.
  18. So, when it comes to rooting in baseball I'm really a Yankees fan first and a Marlins fan second. But I do root for both teams on a regular basis unless the Yankees are playing the Marlins. But something strange is happening this season (and I'm pretty sure it's happened in previous years but I've never watched it that closely). There's been 3 games where both the Yankees and Marlins have lost in epic fashions on the same series, same situations. The first day was the Friday night of the Phillies vs Marlins series back in April when they lost in the 9th inning in epic fashion. That same night, the Red Sox came back on the Yankees in the 9th, off of Mariano Rivera of all people. The next day the Yankees lost in an eventual blowout game (even though the final score was 16-11 Red Sox, the Yankees had a 6-0 lead going into the 5th). The next day, the Marlins lost 13-2. Then yesterday, both teams lost in the 8th innings in similar epic fashions. In between, I've noticed the Yankees and Marlins have won and lost on similar nights. I think there's been a couple more similar parallel's, but those are the 3 that stick out. Obviously the Marlins have done a lot more losing then the Yankees given their record. But I was just wondering if you rooted for other teams too, and noticed any situations where your team and the Marlins have won/lost on the same day in similar fashions.
  19. I feel so bad for the starters when the BP blows it like this. Miller pitched pretty good today, deserved the win.
  20. If you guys want to spend a little more, you can get custom player t-shirts at mlb.com. I'm definitely considering getting a Amezaga one (since he's my favorite player) and a JJ one. They look pretty cool. You guys can also customize it to say what ever you want.
  21. Of course Carroll leads off after that. You know he's gonna get on. Maybe not.
