  1. I don't think I'll ever grow to like Urena.. The sound from the first pitch on opening day coming off the bat of Happ's is still ringing in my head..
  2. This crippled the franchise to its knees for a very long time bois...
  3. Personally, I hope they continue to suck. The worst thing that could actually happen is this minor league team starts winning games thus messing up everything up. Please proceed as planned.
  4. Eh.. Until they close, nothing is done. Especially, with this organization.
  5. Prices are as low as $115 today. I think I might just do it, seems its not going to get any lower than that. I definitely want to buy from a secure source to scalping isn't an option. Any suggestions?
  6. I have posted this in the past couple of threads and, I'll say it again. The ONLY thing that can save this franchise right now would be the sell of this club, the sooner the better. The loss of Jose was not only devastating on a personal individual level but the truth is that it crippled this franchise. Aside from pitching every 4-5th day, he was literally the heart beat of this team. Now, we have Stanton, which he has his struggles and hot streaks but I do think he's worth the contract we gave him? No Way! A contract like that is probably only merited by Byrce Harper, IMO! I don't see the growth and progression I would have like to have seen by now from him. Back the organization. The Marlins have always had one great thing about them, which is that we had a very successful farm system, year in and year out. You used to be able to look at almost any winning ball club around the league, and see a former Marlin. We need to get back to our roots! We need to scout, and sign potential, and let the farm system organically raise the prospects into stars. Even if it takes trading Yelich, Stanton, Realmuto, and Ozuna, so what? We need to give to get, and neither one of those guys is enough to get this franchise churning again. I hope and pray this club is sold soon and whomever buys it, realizes the only way back to relevancy is by starting all over again, even if it takes 5 very dark years ahead for this club.
  7. The only thing that will change the moral of this club is the impending sale. This whole franchise needs a zap from top to bottom.
  8. I doubt they could have provided a bid without showing the security/equity needed to fund the actual bid they were placing. Think of it as a "pre-approval" letter. You're correct though as now this does transition into the closing stages. Negotiation of the fine details and language but purchase price, that's done maybe a small tick up or down.
  9. You can't compare what Dontrelle and Jose meant to this City. Maybe Dontrelle made more of an impact for the fan base and the organization but not the "city". Jose brought with him the story that many as being Cuban could related to. The old and tired would show up every 5th day, perhaps even fans that gave up on this organization years ago, he rejuvenated their desire to be at the park again. Jose's grip around this city was far, far greater than that of Dontrelle. As for the statue, I don't think much of it and quite honestly, its probably too soon to be doing it.
  10. This would be huge for this City! I think the players would be really excited to have Jeter on board.
  11. As ugly as no-hitters can sometimes be, I don't get why you pull a pitcher with a multiple run lead? This is twice this week that a pitcher has been pulled in the midst of a no-no. I would be beyond pissed if I were to be pulled, especially with a pitch count at 100..
  12. I just can't envision this timing winning long term without a farm system. Sure, other teams have done it without a farm, but that's not how this organization does things due to the 1) money constraints and 2) the bad, close to horrible decision making of signing free agents. If it costs losing a few players to rebuild the farm system, I am completely down for that. By that I mean everyone is available. My point is .... I don't think these type of trades makes us any better, for depth purposes I can see the value.
  13. You know you made it in life when you can answer your phone with that line and not give 3 shits..
  14. I honestly hope we sign neither one of them... This isn't where money should be allocated towards. If anything, if we do sign them, I hope we sign them to decent deals that we can then trade them for prospects that we DESPERATELY need!
