May 17, 20179 yr Steam - Na Na Hey Hey Kiss Him Goodbye don mattingly this been pain team watch it fall him getting player he have play likie pro pitching been wrost in years and bullpen and fire hill too offseason move i have eniough team with out heart!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! http://dai.ly/x2m2pvg
May 17, 20179 yr I don't think Mattingly is the problem. He doesn't have anybody to work with. The players are professionals that's true, but their guts have been torn to bits. They lost Jose and most probably aren't over it. Hell, I'm not over it. And now nothing is working. The pitching and bullpen are in shambles. Some of the SP are probably better in the bullpen then starters. They have A LOT OF BAD CONTRACTS. You have 2nd and 3rd "string" players in the infield. Stanton always has been a streaky hitter. It looks like only Bour has made any progress in hitting this season, and Realmuto is coming into his own over spring training and just short TWO MONTHS of the season. and NO FARM SYSTEM. So if you have nothing to work with how can Mattingly miraculously coach winning games? And what about other coaches? I certainly can't gauge some of them. But let's face it Fredi didn't do anything for us OR the Braves. And the Marlins is the ONLY team to offer him a job? Last year we had Bonds, but other than a showcase piece was he any good? The only one I know is good is Perry Hill. And Mattingly didn't have terrible teams in LA but didn't he have to deal with some awful owners in a middle of a divorce? So there is the article by Rosenthal saying we must tear down, and it certainly looks it may be the best that can be done to and for the Marlins. And with a new owner(s) and even with a tear down I think I'll stay around as a fan and see what's happen. I know I'll be screaming at them at times, but it's the South Florida team that became mine in 2002.
May 17, 20179 yr if dingledick Hill was gone by now I'd say trade anyone you can for as many good young players as possible and reload
May 17, 20179 yr agreed not all Don's fault but during his tenure with the Marlins he has made some head scratching decisions that I finally understood Doyers fans bitching about him

I know I'll be screaming at them at times, but it's the South Florida team that became mine in 2002. I am with ya on this, Its not Mattingly's fault. The team is in shambles physically and mentally too. Bad contracts and depleted farm system from giving away most of our top prospects for 4th and 5th rotation spot starting pitchers who are long gone already. Mattingly can do it but not with what he has here now. All we ever do is rebuild and fire managers or they quit. Constant turnover and firing everyone every two years is not the answer. I know new owners will prob want their own hire.Hopefully they leave Mattingly in place long enough to see if indeed he is wrong manager for this team instead of knee jerk over reacting like Lorias way of doing business. First thing this team needs is a steady hand and structure at the top which hopefully new owners will bring and a GM who's not in over his head like the current one. A new one that can fix and rebuild once again. Painful to face another rebuild but it's necessary this time. I've been fan since 1995 when I first got into sports so it's been tumultuous to say the least but I'll hang on and see what happens and always be a fan. Hoping for positive change. Hope for new owners and for official news on it sooner rather than later so we all can see the light at the end of this sewer tunnel we're in right now. Hope is all we have right now.Unfortunately

From Edwin Rosario to Freddy Gonzalez, going thru Joe Girardi, all had nothing to work with, but they all paid the price.......
May 17, 20179 yr Don is a really good manager. Top 10 in my opinion. So no he should not get fired. Top 10 in marlins history?
May 17, 20179 yr Some bad decisions but I do not think Mattingly deserves to get fired. Not only the injuries but we have the worst starting rotation since 1998 and that's not an exaggeration.
May 17, 20179 yr Isn't that the problem all other Marlins managers had and they've been fired ? From Edwin Rosario to Freddy Gonzalez, going thru Joe Girardi, all had nothing to work with, but they all paid the price....... It seems certainly to be the MO here, and we've seen it elsewhere. Isn't the idea get rid of the manager to shake things up and then the team will respond and play better?? Yet that isn't would happen here like it happened in 2003. That year it kicked the team in the butt and they performed for Trader Jack. And we know Leyland went on and did well at Detroit. There is definitely a problem with talent which was abundant then. I assume Loria has been thinking it worked once so it will happen again. But......
May 17, 20179 yr The only thing that will change the moral of this club is the impending sale. This whole franchise needs a zap from top to bottom.
May 17, 20179 yr Its not Dons fault, how many times have we changed managers? The players have mental issues
May 18, 20179 yr Why fire Mattingly? It's not his fault that the team sucks. He can only manage so much until things are out of his control. Not his managing to blame for how awful our starting pitching is, not his to blame for how Stanton is forever in a slump. Sure he makes some questionable decisions, but when you team is playing as awful as the Marlins are, he's forced to make that gamble to get some sort of spark from the players. Sure he had the super team in LA and still couldn't win the WS, but hey at least it was consecutive playoffs, something I'd lose a pinky toe just to see once, because there's no playoff glimpse for this team within the next 5 years unfortunately. If anyone is to blame its the front office, which obviously most of us here do blame. But its only year 2 of Mattingly, and look at the shit hand of cards the front office dealt him. Maybe open up the check book and spend some money on quality SP, learn how to draft and don't get raped every single time in a trade. But the majority of the teams problem has nothing to do with Mattingly.
May 19, 20179 yr Yeah right now Mattingly isn't the issue. The pitching is horrendous and we can't score any runs.
May 19, 20179 yr Unless they can get Maddon how will firing Mattingly benefit in any way? And getting Maddon won't fix the pitchers but he could get creative.

May 20, 20179 yr And why does Don Mattingley look high or drunk everytime i see him in a interview?. Wouldn't you need to be high or drunk to deal with this kind of a mess? Lol
