Hahahaha just tuned into the game in the 9th inning. Was watching the cubs broadcast and those announcers were so shocked that the Marlins won. The play by play guy actually said “we didnt expect the lowly Marlins to come in and be leading the game” and at the end of the game the other announcer was like “the cubs were probably expecting to take 3 out of 4 from the Marlins. But baseball like life can sometimes be disappointing.” 😂

Yeah.. probably any regular forum member would have pushed back at his answers until Bendix got annoyed and ended the interview. But of course with Mish being a professional reporter as well as it being published in the Herald. There is only so much he can do. In other words Mish asks the questions and whatever answer Bendix gives is his answer and that’s that. Imagine if @TaiwanMarlins interviewed Bendix. Here is how I think a hypothetical interview would go: TM: Hello. Why didn’t you sign JD? PB: Well as an organization we reviewed all the options that were available and went with the players we felt would help us win not just now but for many years ahead. TM: I SAID.. WHY DIDN’T YOU SIGN JD? PB: Again, we wanted to build a strong foundation for the future and we felt we did well on the players we signed. TM: You make me miss Loria and Samson.. at least they not cheap like cheap Bruce. I’m no longer support this team because they don’t spend any money and don’t sign good free agents! PB: I’m sorry you feel that way. Well, I have to run. Take care.

I liked the questions that Mish asked.. pretty much what any of us would have asked in the same situation. I especially liked the question where he asked if Bendix was familiar with the Marlins history of winning, losing, rebuilding. Then Bendix mentioned he was a big fan of the Indians in 1997 when they lost to the Marlins. Just got me thinking about how the past two Marlins executives were from or were fans of the teams the Marlins beat in the WS. Jeter was of course a Yankee in 2003 when the Marlins beat the Yankees in the WS and then the Marlin CEO. Bendix was a huge fan of the Indians in 1997 when the Marlins beat them in the WS. Heck even Ng was an assistant GM for the Yankees from 98-01. 😂 If you can’t beat em join em. Although, and I mentioned this before, I always had a feeling that Jeter was always mad about the Yankees losing the WS in 03 so he decided to get the last laugh in the most rich guy way possible.. buy the team.. and gut out everything related to the Jeffrey Loria owned Marlins as possible. And then leave em dry. Walk off smiling in the sunset with your supermodel wife and now make tv commercials playing video games against Jazz Chisholm. 😂

Even if Marlins sign him.. he will be traded away or not on the club until 2027 at the earliest… Having a white knight mindset for any baseball player is stupid because baseball is the best description of a team sport you can find. I’ve very rarely or never seen one baseball player join a team and single handedly brought them to a WS win. How many WS did the Angels win with Trout? Ohtani? Some could say that if the Dodgers win the WS series this year than it was because of Ohtani to which I say that the Dodgers were already a WS caliber team and adding Shohei was just the icing on top but the Dodgers would be more than capable of making and winning the WS already on their own. Add Shohei to the Marlins current roster and they are maybe 8-8.. but that would be only because Shohei would be pitching instead of Puk. However is Shohei was only batting and not pitching this same Marlins team would be like maybe 6-12 at best. Won’t be winning games with guys like Bender and Sixto out there blowing leads all the time. So yeah.. maybe I’m grumpy about this whole situation.. but honestly worrying about prospects in baseball is stupid. This ain’t basketball where drafting Dwayne Wade or football where drafting Tua will instantly change the team dynamic. Shut the Fuck up.

2004 probably was not a great time to be wearing a Marlins shirt at Wrigley. After 2016 now the Cubs fan can shut up with their wining and Steve Bartman etc. 😂

No I think the Marlins just suck this year because they are trying to cut costs and make as much profit as possible. Tanking for a player you’re not even guaranteed to get is pretty dumb. It’s not like a “tank for Tua” situation here. Even if the Marlins have a better than average chance of getting the top pick.. just knowing how life has alway worked for the Marlins.. the top pick will end up going to some other random losing team like the White Sox or Rockies. 😂

You could post screenshots from the way back machine showing the different variations and designs of the site from over the years. You can talk about who Larry is/was and who @SonOfJack was.. how SilverBullet and Michael and Das became Mods and also about your future hopes and dreams for this site i.e. making @hovertical a mod and firing Michael for telling me to stfu. Actually that’s my future hope and dream. Nevermind.

Keep him healthy. On the other hand.. he was asked about demoting Meyer and he responded that he doesn’t have the best answer to keep him healthy? As was discussed earlier on this thread.. how does sending him to AAA have any relation to keeping him healthy? Seems like the MLB club might have better pitching coach and trainers.. but who knows? Maybe the Jumbo Shrimp need a boost in their rotation. 😂

You dreamt of him because he last pitched in the majors in 2021 for the Rays and if there was ever a team that would sign a 37 year old former Ray that hasn’t pitched since 2021 it would be the Marlins led by Peter Bendix. So perhaps because you have talked about in the past how Bendix will sign any former Rays player you created a subconscious note and your subconscious mind while you were sleeping brought up a random former Rays player. It’s said that dreams are your brain’s way of resolving subconscious conflicts. And you are too caught up and worried about trivial things like Peter Bendix signing older former Rays players and your dream was the result of that. Unless you made the whole story up for views. Than forget it.

Yep… sad thing is us real Marlins fan keep coming back year after year and cycle after cycle hoping for a different result. I saw the writing on the wall years ago.. so basically became a casual fan since maybe 2012.. prior to that I was a seriously obsessed Marlins fan.. so that’s why even though I consider myself a Marlins fan now.. I couldn’t name 4 players in AA to save me.. I just stopped caring after viewing things through an objective lens even back then I saw the same cycle repeat itself so many times over the years.. and I had a feeling that the same cycle would keep repeating itself regardless of who the GM is.. and now 12 years later it’s shown that my thoughts were right. Tonight’s attendance was around 8,500.. for an MLB game. Ridiculous. We’ve all talked about this.. so it’s just preaching to the choir here.. but yeah.. still have to say only thing that will bring the Crowd in Miami is winning games.. keep your all you can eat seats and 4 for $44. Who wants to pay money to see this type of nonsense losing baseball?

Not official yet but most likely happening. Continuing the Braves tradition of picking up recent former Marlins. Funny how teams like the Mets, Phillies and Braves seem to always pick up or trade for Marlins players consistently and it very rarely happens the other way around just for like Jean Segura and Adam Duvall(who Braves got back that same year anyways.) Watch Gurriel get called in later in the season and go 4-8 vs the Marlins. Have to say it again.. Yuli is a girls name.
