  1. It would be cool if they did a package that start out with some light religious music, and the board says "Who wants a funeral?". Then all of a sudden they start playing Metallica and show some video of Braden shutting the door on other teams. Then at the end they put up this: Next Victim Teams Name this isnt AJ or spooney man... this is looper.. :o
  2. wasnt this the guy that snuck back in the mets duggout while wearing fake glasses, a plastic nose and mustache? he should look into hosting ringling bros. or something
  3. arnie didnt do much?? he may have done TOOO MUCH... he constantly tampered with pitchers and I really dont know what he did to be honest... He had good chemistry and could relate to the pitchers well, helped AJ and redman alot it seems although AJ blew up... I dont know much about anything else he has done and none of us do... Truth is none of us know much about this rosenthal guy either, except that the pitchers are putting up good numbers with rosenthal and they sucked with arnsberg... thats all, dont give the guy any more credit he doesnt deserve because we are all uninformed about this.
  4. haha yea and crossing 34 from university feels like you are running over dead cats... like 10 of em
  5. rosenthal hasnt done anything. He didnt "fix" or cause a miracle. The staff would perform like this under most pitching coaches. Its probably good that he steps back and watches more than he fixes though. You can tell by the way phelps talked, that rosenthal wasnt the real difference. Pavano has known wayne since 98 so its different with him. I bet if you interview the other pitchers they will say the same thing as phelps
  6. pitching coaches dont spend as much time as you think with the pitchers. He might be there watching the guy throw and just say some minor things or he can go in depth, be be the guys friend whatever whatever. Pitching coaches dont spend HOURS AND HOURS with the pitchers like you say. There is only a certain amount of times a guy can throw. If a guy is struggling bad then he has to go in depth, review video w/e but that is not the case with the fish. Ever since he came he hasnt had to give much advice though. Most of our pitchers like penny and pavano (the only ones that really mess up from time to time) know what they did wrong when they pitch. They say it all the time after the game. No need for coaching there. Maybe a pat on the back but thats all. The only one that needs fixing is Almanza, but hes always had control probs. Rosenthal for now hasnt done much. He just peps the players up and pats them on the back. Nothing special. It just so happened that the fish got their act together when everything was shaken up with the torborg and arnie1941(jk dont hurt me arnie) firing
  7. yea are good.... FOR ME TO POOP ON!!
  8. Wheeler has always been not much impressive. hes decent nonetheless. They have Phillips and Piazzas groin wont probably be able to handle catching duties this year. Its too much of a liability. hes going to first. Phillips did well against the yanks I belive and is their backup for now and catcher for the future for the time being. Phillips also can play first, which is what he is doing now due to vaughns injury and is getting the ABs but he is horrible at first and very sloppy. His glove wasnt even fully broken in lol that the ball popped out. Mets are going to do some heavy dismantling and rebuilding and it probably doesnt include redmond going there. Why would they get a catcher for 1 mill when they have a young guy there that can do it for 700 k less?
  9. mettalica is slack. They can make good songs but they only make a few and the rest are there just to take up space. Theyve said it themselves.
  10. This might be good news and Pudge is going to get serious about his offensive production. Bad news is that Boras is going to inflate his $ value out of marlins range for next year.. but that doesnt matter to the marlins much anyways since he might be naturally out of the price range for 2004.
  11. yea but his defense in all has sucked.. hes only caught 35% of would be basestealers.. so much for a cannon..
  12. it sounds like he hasnt done much yet... maybe just a coincedence that since he came up it just started to work with the change to Mckeon and all and now the pitchers got their act together as well as the team. The team just played it out. Pavano is thankful since hes known him for quite a while, but phelps is like whatever.
  13. Looper is too soft. Hes a religious guy. Which is a good thing. I think it would be better for him if they played some spritual stuff or something. It would irritate the opposing team and pump Looper up since it would be inspirational to him.
  14. He was talking about Ruben Mateo i think.... henry mateo, not ruben the 5 tool bust. henry batted like .320 with 70 sbs in the minors or something like that the last time he was down there. If it werent for vidro, this guy would be a star.. hes one of the fastest in the league as well.. time wise
  15. Bobby V sould not be on ESPN, he should quit and join the circus. He clearly isnt cut out for TV. Hes constantly studdering and hesitating before he speaks. Its pityful to watch this guy talk, for real.
  16. Castillo sucks? Batting .309 and is tied for 3rd on the team in runs scored......at the #2 spot instead of leadoff spot now. 2nd on the team in hits...has not only increased his RBIs in the 2 spot, but has shown some more power hitting 4 HRs thus far this season. So his SBs are down...moving to 2nd in the order from leadoff, and a hip surgery will do that to ya. his HRs are insignificant. They are what you call "kagged out". alot of 2nd basemans can hit around .300 with decent defense for ALOT less than 7 mill. Castillos my favorite and always has been since the first day he came up in 1996. Id like to see the marlins sign him even if it were for 10 million but it aint happening and truth is we can get alot more stuff for 7 million. oh and is just me or in the last few games has castillo gotten down on groundballs late. It looks like that hip is effecting him on getting to groundballs on time as well. He used to field them alot cleaner.
  17. Lorretta would be our perfect answer for the 2 hole. However, I like my second basemans to hit for high averages and supply lots of speed. Loretta wont steal too much.
  18. why would expos want castillo? Cincinnati should be doing everything in their power to obtain castillo because I have never seen a team that needs a leadoff as desperately as they need one.
  19. always better man... always
