  8. NFL Player Chad Johnson Questioned By Police Police Seek Clues in Brownsville Man's Death (CBS4) MIAMI The Cincinatti Bengals ? apart of the NFL?s American Football Conference franchise - released a statement Friday morning that its wide receiver, Chad Johnson of Miami had been questioned by police in connection with the death of Curtis Tavares Dopson last Friday in his Miami duplex in the Brownsville section of Miami. ?Chad has confirmed to the club that he cooperated with the Miami police earlier this week as part of a routine investigation," the club said. "Police have characterized this as a routine procedure and have stressed Chad is not a suspect or even a person of interest. Given that, we see no cause to comment further." Johnson is reported to have told police that he knew Dopson, whose mother was quoted as saying they knew one another ?from around the neighborhood?. Johnson is also reported telling police he has no knowledge of the incident and indicated his questioning was part of a routine police investigation. Johnson was host Thursday night in one of many Super Bowl gala events being celebrated on South Beach. (? MMVII, CBS Broadcasting Inc. All Rights Reserved.)
  9. (CBS4) MIAMI Miami Heat rookie Robert Hite was arrested early Sunday morning on South Beach and charged with DUI. Sources told CBS4.com that Hite was leaving Dwyane Wade?s 25th Birthday party when police pulled him over between 3:00am and 4:00am and arrested him for driving under the influence. Hite was taken to Miami-Dade County jail for processing, before bonding out later Sunday morning. Hite was not at the Miami Heat-Dallas Mavericks game on Sunday afternoon at the American Airlines Arena and none of the teams players or coaches talked about the incident. "I don't know anything about it,? said Heat Interim Coach Ron Rothstein. ?I don?t know what the deal is.? Hite, who spent his college career playing at the University of Miami, is averaging 4.3 points per game on the season for the Heat. http://cbs4.com/local/local_story_021180611.html First Dtrain and now Hite.

  11. (CBS4) NORTHWEST MIAMI-DADE CBS4 learned exclusively late Wednesday that the Miami-Dade Police Department has launched an investigation into a situation involving Atlanta Falcons QB Michael Vick and a water bottle he had with him at Miami International Airport. The bottle is claimed to have held a sceret compartment, which police sources say smelled of marijuana. One high level source tells CBS4?s Brian Andrews the bottle contained a secret compartment that contained marijuana residue and emitted a strong odor of the drug. Miami Dade Police did a follow-up investigation on the matter, including pulling video tapes of Vick at the Security Checkpoint. Police source say Vick was attempting to carry a 20 ounce bottle of Aquafina water through a checkpoint at Miami International Airport Wednesday morning, as he headed for a flight to Atlanta. Since passengers are not allowed to carry any more than 3 ounces of liquid through a checkpoint, a screener reportedly asked Vick to discard the water. CBS4 sources say Vick adamantly refused, resulting in what was termed a 'heated' and lengthy encounter between the NFL quarterback and the screener. CBS4 source say Vick eventually relented, and discarded the bottle, and was allowed to pass the checkpoint. He apparently made his flight as scheduled and returned to Atlanta Detectives are sending the water bottle in Vick's possession to the Crime Lab for processing. Vick did proceed to take his flight and has not been charged at this point. After he left, the security screener became suspicious about Vick's insistence in keeping the bottle. He retrieved it, and turned it over to the Miami-Dade police department. Behind the label, police sources say, investigators found a 'secret compartment' containing some dark particles. Sources close to the investigation say the bottle smelled of marijuana, and that the dark particles in the compartment resemble the drug. Reggie Roberts, VP of Communications for the Atlanta Falcons, released a written statement early Thursday morning on behalf of the bteam. "We understand there have been reports allegedly involving Michael Vick that took place at Miami International Airport," the statement read. "We plan to look into the matter and discuss it with Michael before having any further comment." Security tapes have been pulled, and the bottle in question has been sent to a crime lab for analysis of its contents. http://cbs4.com/topstories/local_story_018003513.html

  16. Pat Robertson Predicts 2007 Terror Attack Religious Broadcaster Says God Told Him Of 'Mass Killing' Near Year's End (AP) VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. In what has become an annual tradition of prognostications, religious broadcaster Pat Robertson said Tuesday God has told him that a terrorist attack on the United States would result in ?mass killing? late in 2007. ?I'm not necessarily saying it's going to be nuclear,? he said during his news-and-talk television show ?The 700 Club? on the Christian Broadcasting Network. ?The Lord didn't say nuclear. But I do believe it will be something like that.? Robertson said God told him during a recent prayer retreat that major cities and possibly millions of people will be affected by the attack, which should take place sometime after September. Robertson said God also told him that the U.S. only feigns friendship with Israel and that U.S. policies are pushing Israel toward ?national suicide.? Robertson suggested in January 2006 that God punished then-Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon with a stroke for ceding Israeli-controlled land to the Palestinians. The broadcaster predicted in January 2004 that President Bush would easily win re-election. Bush won 51 percent of the vote that fall, beating Democratic Sen. John Kerry of Massachusetts. In 2005, Robertson predicted that Bush would have victory after victory in his second term. He said Social Security reform proposals would be approved and Bush would nominate conservative judges to federal courts. Lawmakers confirmed Bush's 2005 nominations of John Roberts and Samuel Alito to the Supreme Court. But the president's Social Security initiative was stalled. ?I have a relatively good track record,? he said. ?Sometimes I miss.? In May, Robertson said God told him that storms and possibly a tsunami were to crash into America's coastline in 2006. Even though the U.S. was not hit with a tsunami, Robertson on Tuesday cited last spring's heavy rains and flooding in New England as partly fulfilling the prediction. http://cbs4.com/topstories/topstories_story_002222144.html What a wierdo.

Hell thats still embarrasing how the Bulls were up by 20 and the heat took the lead with their bench as in Kapono,Doleac,Quinn,Wright and Haslem we would've won that game if Wade and Posey were in for the rest of the game plus the officiating crew was blind where they didnt catch ben gordon pushing off.
