Posey

Featured Replies

Cheapshot artist, head-hunter, p***y.. whatever you wanna call him. Its getting old.

Skiles in his post game press conference when asked about taking Posey into the Bulls own hands:

"It wouldn't be politcally correct for me to say it, so I'll keep it to myself."

He's a piece of (crap).

Posey undeniably has those two cheap shots in the last 6-7 months, but as far as I know, that's it for his entire career. He just doesn't carry himself for the most part in a manner that would lead me to call him a "cheap shot artist", but he does need to cut that (crap) out. He's got two strikes. One more, and I'll agree with you.

If the arms didn't get tangled, it's not a big deal just a hard foul.

I don't think calling him cheap or any other profanity is warranted.

Agreed.

Talk about overreacting, dude. Did you post this here just because you know most people are Heat fans or do you go around posting in different team message boards when a hard foul is committed?

Actually if you count last years playoff mishap and the foul earlier this year then this is his third strike. None of it really looked intentional but I can understand where you are coming from as a Bulls fan. Not sure why this couldnt be discussed in the Heat/Bulls game thread. Oh well, you have a right to be upset.

Hell thats still embarrasing how the Bulls were up by 20 and the heat took the lead with their bench as in Kapono,Doleac,Quinn,Wright and Haslem we would've won that game if Wade and Posey were in for the rest of the game plus the officiating crew was blind where they didnt catch ben gordon pushing off.

People are just reacting to the fact that Deng happened to hit the ground hard. I didn't think that the foul itself wasn't dirty. At that point in the game, tied at 87 and 7 minutes left, it wasn't a wise foul to take, but I didn't think Posey was inentionally trying to harm him. Similar fouls happen all the time and people don't make a big deal out of it.

Wow Bulls fans, chill out kids. Posey did not purposely intend to hurt the guy. He tried to stop him from getting to the basket and he hit the court hard. Ok, he was ejected--that's fine. But don't start calling him an ill-intented a**hole.

It was right to toss him but it wasnt purposeful to harm or injury. This would be like going insane over the bulls guard purposely hurting wade

Which game was the foul earlier this year? I don't think I saw that one.

Anyway...I thought it was a pretty hard foul. And even if Posey wasn't thinking about injuring Deng, it sure didn't look like he was thinking about going after the ball either. When you foul like that, people can get hurt pretty easily. Ask Deng how he feels today. He's lucky it wasn't worse. So, yeah, I think Posey deserves a lot of blame.

I can only imagine how this place would react if Nocioni or someone did this to Wade. We'd probably be calling for the death penalty.

Sorry, more of a reaction to the hard fall and the thought he was hurt badly. I would have put it in other thread but it popped up right before i posted mine.

But it does seem like every time we play each other, Posey makes a name for himself.

I could be wrong, but I think there is pretty good rivalry starting here.

He elbowed Tyrus Thomas and broke his nose in the first game of the season.

Yeah that was the one. Sorry I can't remember if he was actually ejected for that but it was pretty hard.

That wasn't intentional. Please. Do you play basketball at all? There's going to be contact. It was only a few days ago that a friend of mine caught an elbow in the face. Intentional? No. Part of the game. It's one thing if it's a hard foul/intentional foul and another if you're fighting for the ball.

And by the way, I have yet to see the play from last night so I couldn't tell you if it looked intentional to me or not, but if we're going to call Posey a dirty player or a "goon" as they did in the Chicago paper should we not take a look down the hall at the United Center at Nocioni? You know, the same guy that got tangled with Wade not too long ago and threw him to the ground AFTER a play was whistled dead. :mischief2

I play basketball in high school, does that meet your qualifications? I don't remember the play, so it could have been unintentional on Thomas. All I remember is Posey breaking his nose. I would bet it was intentional considering his past.

He basically tackled Deng last night. No way you could argue that wasn't intentional.

Are you going to tell me this was just basketball also?

Well, there you have it. By playing basketball in school you should know that there's going to be contact. And on the play Posey elbowed Thomas I believe he had just come down with a rebound and swung his arms with his hands on the ball. No harm there. The foul during the playoffs on Hinrich is a different story, but other than that can you name another incident? Maybe last night fits into that category. That's all well and good. Haven't seen it, like I said. You talk about the guy as if he were some kind of head hunter because he has a "past." 2 incidents that no one outside of Miami or Chicago is going to remember next week. I'm not condoning what he did/has done but let's not blow this up into something bigger than it is.

This is funny.

On one hand you have Bull fans whining about Posey.

On the other hand you have Heat fans whining about Hinrich.

Amazing.

The Hinrich thread was mocking this one.

And Hinrich going after Posey is hilarious.

The NBA suspended Heat forward James Posey from Friday night's home game against the New Jersey Nets because of his flagrant foul against Bulls forward Luol Deng in the fourth quarter of Wednesday night's 109-103 loss in Chicago.

The ruling was issued after the Heat completed Friday morning's shootaround at AmericanAirlines Arena.

Posey was assessed a Flagrant 2 penalty for taking down Deng in the lane. A Flagrant 2 mandates immediate ejection, but not necessarily a suspension. The sanction was handed down by NBA Vice President Stu Jackson, after conversations with the parties involved.

The one-game suspension was issued a day after Bulls Executive Vice President John Paxson implored the league to take an aggressive stance with Posey. The Heat forward was ejected from a playoff game against Chicago last season after a flagrant foul on Bulls guard Kirk Hinrich, and also broke the nose of Bulls rookie forward Tyrus Thomas in the season opener with an inadvertent elbow.

By rule, Posey will not be allowed to be at AmericanAirlines Arena when the Heat faces the Nets, but must remain on the game-night roster, reducing the Heat to 11 active players.

Heat guard Dwyane Wade, who is listed as day-to-day with a sprained right wrist, did not participate in shooting drills at Friday's shootaround and also is expected to be out for the Nets game. The team is expected to announce Wade's status at 6:30 p.m., when an active roster must be submitted.

I saw the suspension coming. Finally saw the play. It was rough, but from I've been reading it was also blown up into more than it was.
