Jose placed on DL with right elbow sprain
Lawyers are definitely used to having every word they write parsed by others, whether senior attorneys, opposing counsel, or judges. We'd hope that was true, and every lawyer from the ambulance chaser to ones qualified to argue a case before the Supreme Court knew equally about things to say publicly about legal matters, much less blog fodder matters. All lawyers are not created equal, just like pitchers.

Jose placed on DL with right elbow sprain
It's an unusual comment under the circumstances no doubt, but imo anything unusual is most likely a result of a lawyer not used to the limelight when every word he utters is being parsed on internet bulletin boards. I also think that Jose likely knows the exact time within the fateful pitch when the injury occurred. He knew and should have known better at that moment, and the manager/pitching coach should have spotted something, but in retrospect everybody involved "didn't". In the end, whether it was food poisoning or bad footing or a thigh muscle.....what difference does it make(sic).

Should the Marlins try and make a run?
There's also no point in expending any trade pieces on another middle of the rotation guy for a season where the Marlins are highly unlikely to make the playoffs regardless. They should be considering the MarlinsLou approach and getting a better picture of Stanton's future and orchestrating their moves around that. If that means building for 2016, then so be it. There will be a point this season where it will be smarter to trade guys like Cishek than add pieces like Samardzija who are pitching over their heads and likely to walk at the end of the season. One day the franchise will consult you before signing any contract and we'll be better off for it. I guess. You now endorse the "MarlinsLou approach" of basically building around Stanton.....2 years ago, 1 year ago, 6 months ago...you and others derided the notion of 10/150+. Now...you endorse what would be 5/150? And hope he accepts. hmmmm. shoulda coulda woulda if only we knew what you did.

4/29 Post Game
Fernandez is a phenomenal talent. Enjoy him. It's way too early to consider any huge mega deals with a pitcher. Seriously, think of Beckett's blisters amongst other things that can go wrong. Let's just hope the kid stays healthy for now. Stanton is another thing. We lost the chance at 10/150+....at this point we can offer 5/150+ . . . . . . and hope he accepts.

4/29 Braves @ Marlins 7:10 PM
Come September the organization, such as it is, will be counting Jose's innings. A CG would have been nice, but it saved a needless inning.

Tommy does right in pointing out that uber-veteran defensive play in the 3rd.

Nice home run. The story is Jose tonite at this point.

4/29 Braves @ Marlins 7:10 PM
Walked the pitcher? They're playing a game. Fernandez didn't mind if Wood got on there. In the previous inning the Atlanta ss "bobbled" a grounder but Fernandez was smart enough to stay off base. Another little veteran move. We don't need him running in this situ, up 3-0.

First tweet being read and my mlbtv feed dies. They announced that they'd give the twits some time on Wednesday.

It's another fantastic effort by Fernandez. He's showing his brain on top of his talent. You only get to see this type of talent once in a blue moon...and there's only 1 first time in what hopefully will be a long career..... that he makes an outstanding defensive play as he did tonite.

There should be a limit on the chop Between the chop and the screamers it's time Stanton just hits a bomb and shuts them up.

Nice by Dietrich...but it's really Kimbrel who looks like crap. He's lost his release point. Must be hurt.

I wonder if that woman we hear screaming on every pitch will scream when the safe call is made.

Affordable Care Act
I'm doing some initial research into the cost/benefits of the law. I'm surprised at the cost for my 28 year old son. I'll get into the details of what I've found, but before I do....has this been discussed already? Is there another thread on this subject?

Henderson Alvarez throws 5th no-hitter in Marlins History
I think that was the first time in MLB history that a no-hitter ended with the winning pitcher in the on-deck circle.

8/6 Post Game
I recall a single by Morrison early in the game that was 18" from being a home run and that 18" is the difference right there between a meh scoring night and a respectable scoring night for the offense.

JP wins Heart & Hustle Award
The Heart and Hustle award is given annually to one member of each team who demonstrates passion, spirit & tradition for the game. Well deserved. He'd win on most if not all teams. If only he could have grafted some of that heart tissue into his right arm....

So with Moran as the 3B of the near-future...
You mean your proposal for a Stanton contract? They should sign him to a 10 year/200M contract after this season. Just pray he accepts, and if it's a matter of more money...give it to him. It's kinda' scary that you have that at your fingertips. As so...you know it's a comment taken out of context of my overall year long thought on the subject. I thought you already conceded that we should sign him...have you changed your mind or are you being your usual annoying self?

So with Moran as the 3B of the near-future...
We'll probably just hold on to him and let him walk after the season. Or re-sign him for 8 years $180,000,000 cause he's a winner. It was 10/150 as you know. It's nice to see mods contributing but isn't there something in the moderator clause that calls for not making trolling comments, as a minimum qualifiication for the position. . Yet you continue with baiting about my thoughts regarding Stanton and a long-term deal. It is/was 10/150. In light of the recent DL maybe 8/120 is on the table. What's the point in thinking about other talent in the franchise or future acquisitions if the fans know a prospect of this level can not be signed to a long-term contract?

can anyone tell me the new Marlins song?
I guess everyone can have an opinion. I still don't understand how anybody can not like pitbull. I don't get it. Pitbull is sexy now that you mention it. Not as sexy as Penguino, but who can say they're as sexy or sexier than he is.
