  1. The main pieces changning teams would be outfielder Delmon Young and righthander Matt Garza. But indications were strong on Wednesday that as many as six players could be involved. In addition to Garza, the Twins would send Tampa Bay shortstop Jason Bartlett and reliever Juan Rincon for Young, shortstop Brendan Harris and outfielder Jason Pridie. Pridie was with the Twins during spring training of 2006 as a Rule 5 pick.
  2. Ricky is done for the season with a chest muscle injury from this dirty play.... http://www.miamiherald.com/breaking_sports/story/322884.html I was stunned that none of the announcers ever really said anything about that injury during the game because the video shows pretty clearly that it was deliberate...I mean, that replay was shown over and over again during the broadcast. I think at one point Jaws just said something along the lines of "he was going for the ball." You know, and on the way to the ball he decided to stomp on Ricky's shoulder. That's exactly what I was thinking as well. We are going to get the arguement that it's football and these types of things happen but that really looked intentional to keep Ricky from recovering the fumbled ball. Oh welll, perhaps the rookie that nailed him will get a fine or something.
  3. I wonder what happens to ricky now. Do the dolphins bring him into training camp? I think it all depends on Ronnie Brown's status heading into the season and what we do in the draft. Dude is dirt cheap and we obviously didn't get enough out of him this season to showcase him for a trade. Perhaps we can do that in training camp/beginning of next season.

  5. Assuming the Marlins received several young players from the Angels in any trade for Miguel Cabrera, what exactly would the Marlins be getting? One ex-Marlin has a pretty good sense. A year ago the Marlins sent right-hander Chris Resop to the Angels for Kevin Gregg. Resop was hurt much of last season, all but a fraction of which he spent at Triple-A Salt Lake City. Earlier this fall the Braves claimed him off waivers. His lone season in the Angels organization afforded him a firsthand view of the top prospects who could be trade bait in a Marlins trade. Here are his evaluations: On Jeff Mathis: "Catching-wise, defensively and everything else, he puts his life on the line pretty much. His pitch calling is very good. He's a very smart catcher. I like him behind the plate. If I had to throw to somebody, he's one of the guys I would pick for sure. He's got a great arm and is just a great defensive catcher." On Howie Kendrick: "Defensively, he's outstanding. He's got a good arm and really solid glove. He's going to remind you a lot of Uggla, stocky, real built, strong kid. He's got a lot of pop. The kid is going to hit you .300 every year. He's just an unbelievable hitter. ... It's like every time he hits it, he doesn't miss it. It's on the barrel every time. ... His nickname is Truck, so he's definitely hard-nosed." On Reggie Willits: "He's not going to hit a lot of home runs. He's got kind of a weird swing. He almost takes three-fourths of a swing. His mind-set every time is to hit the ball over the shortstop's head as a lefty and, as a righty, right over the second baseman's head. ... He's quick, good leadoff hitter." On Nick Adenhart: "He was in big-league camp for couple of weeks. I saw him pitch a couple of times. Everybody said he's got good stuff, but you just can't pick up his ball. When I saw him pitch he made some big-league guys look foolish." On Ervin Santana/Joe Saunders: "Both of them are unbelievable. Both have outstanding stuff. Santana, some days you see him pitch and don't know how he gets hit, 94-95 with a good changeup, good slider, good curveball. That kid is going to be very good. Both of those guys are." http://www.sun-sentinel.com/sports/basebal...0,6222898.story
  6. Hey welcome man. I had found your site a week or so ago via Yardbarker and enjoyed a couple of the articles I had read.
  7. I'm in the process of trying to get my hands on a free iPhone. I got my iPod via the free methods as well and my buddy already got his free iPhone. I got to mess around with the iphone and had to change my pants three times. If anyone is interested in making a quick 30 bucks via paypal for doing 5-10 minutes of work and signing up for an offer to help me get an iphone, I would have no problem paying up!
  8. yea, like players on the Marlins, Phillies, etc don't "dance" in the dugout Yeah but no one ever sees it on National TV! It's like a tree falling in the forest.
  9. I'm just glad that fruitcake David Wright didn't win. That kid really grinds my gears. Jose Reyes grinds mine, his stupid dancing in the dugout BS. Speaking of Reyes and how childish he acts, I was reading an article the other day saying how Reyes and Heilman are the 2 longest tenured Mets players since Tom Glavine. On June 10, 2003, Reyes made his major-league debut with the Mets, during an inter-league game in Texas, batting ninth in a lineup that included Roger Cedeno, Timo Perez, Roberto Alomar, Cliff Floyd, Jeromy Burnitz, Ty Wigginton, Jason Phillips and Vance Wilson with Steve Trachsel on the mound. Hah. Crazy how things have changed. /end thread jack. Sorry.

  11. David Wright got robbed. Oh you Met fans. Your so cute.
  12. shouldn't have won the mvp, gold glove, or silver slugger awesome Yeah, you're right. J-Roll Stinks. atleast he grew up with Dontrelle Willis, or so I'm told they went to the same high school, but i believe Willis' freshman year was the year after JRoll graduated I guess the sarcasm doesn't reach those that don't watch Marlins games they pretty much say that anytime Dontrelle Willis is shown.... hell they say it during games when Willis isn't shown :lol They smoke good sh*t out in the Bay Area I'm told :hat
  13. I guess I don't mind this. What I'm going to hate is hearing it from obnoxious Philadelphia fans.
  14. Can you search itunes without installing that bloatware crap iTunes?

  16. I'm in the market for a new tv and possibly an xbox. anyone heard of sweet deals happening next week? thanks http://bfads.net/ Everything you need for Black Friday.
  17. LMAO. "2. Trade SP Scott Olsen to the Arizona D'Backs for C Miguel Montero." "3. Trade 3B Miguel Cabrera and RP Logan Kensing to the Los Angeles Dodgers for OF Matt Kemp, SP Chad Billingsley, RP Yhuency Brazoban, 1B James Loney, and 3B Andy LaRoche." Update your sig troll.
  18. I don't follow the whole hedge fund thing but I buy season tickets to watch the team that I love play the game that I love. Sorry if that sounded like a personal attack, Jon, but I can assure you it wasn't. More like a venting on my part. I'm just tired of the bandwagon attitude when it comes to this team or any other team in the Miami area. Your quote was fresh in my mind and I ended up writing it down, but I wasn't directing that at you or anyone in particular. Holding back on renewing for money reasons is absolutely understandable... holding back to see what players are on the team is what gets me. No one likes false loyalty... I wasn't offended don't sweat it. It's really a combo deal for me. I have the money but I could and should use it for a much better purpose. After years and years of pumping dollars into the Marlins Paper Shredder I am finally at a point in my life where paying for a quality product is more justification of spending my money than just being a fan. I love the Marlins. Always have and always will. I will still go to games, I just can't invest in a whole season. Perhaps a small ticket package will come along that I will be interested in. I feel bad as a die hard fan saying that but it is what it is. Hell, I don't buy shoes when the sole is coming off the bottom.
  19. I renewed back in September before the season had even ended. Did the five-installments thing for my two seats out in 126... As far as waiting to see what happens with the team before renewing - can you possibly feed into the Miami-fan stereotype any more?! The Marlins have been my team since 1993 when I was 8 years old. I've laughed with them, cried with them, celebrated with them and have been heart-broken by them, but I'm still here and I will continue to be here. Miguel Cabrera is not the Florida Marlins. Dontrelle Willis is not the Florida Marlins. Sure I love having those guys on my team, but my team is the Florida Marlins and I'm going to go out there and support them whether we win or lose or whether we have a great team, a good team or a sorry excuse for a team. When I say "Go Marlins!" I don't mean, "Go Marlins - but only if we have the players that I want to have on the team!" Regardless of how cheap Loria may be, the stadium deal still has a lot to do with who the team can pay and who they unfortunately have to deal away. That's life. That's baseball in 2007... It's precisely because most fans in Miami don't give a damn unless the team is winning that payroll has to be kept manageable. Maybe if the Marlins saw that they have fans who will stick with them through thick and thin they'd be willing to stretch some contracts and keep some players. Go renew your tickets and show your team that you're not just another typical Miami fan... Be a FAN, not an investor. Sorry, I've given my hard earned money to this team since the mid 90's. At this time with my current financial situation and the fact I have a bitter taste in my mouth from the moves this FO makes, I have every right to not renew until I see what happens.
  20. I'm not giving this team another dollar until I see what happens this offseason.
  21. http://florida.marlins.mlb.com/news/articl...sp&c_id=fla Enjoy a good read but I'll leave you with this tidbit: "This winter, I'm really going to work on my physical condition in order to be in the best shape possible for Spring Training," said Cabrera. "I've been at it for four weeks now at a gym that specializes in professional athletes, and I'll be there until the spring." - Miguel Cabrera Encouraging words for the team who is going to acquire him this offseason. You can bet he is out to prove all these people wrong about his weight. Whether he can keep the weight down in season is another story.
  22. I do not usually spam my own site but I figured this would put a smile on many Dolphin's fans faces. http://www.sportech.info/2007/11/13/zach-t...ally-scrambled/
  23. Refuse to a pay a superstar (Cabrera) and overpay for an overrated Catcher? Sounds logical.
