  1. Good grief. Come on Booney.
  2. We have to get at least 1 run in here. No excuse.
  3. I wish I had your patience.
  4. Good hitting today by the cow (Cabrera) :|
  5. YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  6. You got to be kidding me. Aramis Ramirez is on fire these past few weeks... I say walk him. You can't put the tying run in scoring position.
  7. Yes!!!!!!!! Gregg is awesome.
  8. Is it me, or does Tankersley just suck ass this year? He's turning into Perisho That name just conjured up bad memories.
  9. I don't get the double-switch. How are we benefitting by placing Amezaga in center, moving Reggie to left and removing Willingham?
  10. Well Hermida's 1-13 against the Phillies and now 0-for the weekend certainly isn't helping nor was his defense today. He's sinking so fast Joe Borchard is starting to look good (only kidding :encore don't go ballistic). Sure Joe strikes out alot but so has Hermida, eleven times in the last two series. It's hard to tell which is the real Jeremy Hermida. Let's hope it's a bump in the road but if he hasn't snapped out of it by the end of the roadtrip it might be time to rethink his relative value as an everyday player until he gets his head on straight. Ramirez' 0-fer weekend didn't help the cause and Willingham hasn't had a hit since the first Philly game. Cold bats. Hot opponent. Someone said we had a chance to win two out of three but you can't play bad defense AND not hit and expect to win anything. As for Olsen, my guess is he's a season away from maturing enough to be great. His stuff is there, his head isn't. At least everybody's favorite whipping boys, Amezaga (five hits over the weekend) and Olivo (six hits, two homeruns) seem the guys with the hot bats although Cabrera has hit safely in seven of the last eight games and Uggla has shown some promise lately. Maybe it all comes together in Chicago. Let's hope so. Actually, Miggy has safely in 10 of his last 11 games (His 9-game hitting streak was snapped last night). But what was really encouraging were his at-bats today. His swing looked grooved.
  11. Worth a look but nonetheless surprising in that Amezega we know can play the position (defensively). It's probably just an experiment, a lark. We'll see. Boy, on the face of it that's an ugly lineup but stranger things have worked. I wish they'd move Miggy down into cleanup though, it's just going to be another day of him getting nothing decent to hit, might as well let him provide someone else protection. That homerun in the ninth the other night was a good example of what Miggy could do if pitchers felt they had to pitch to him. Give him anythng even remotely hittable and we see the Miggy we all know and love. But good luck guys. I'll be watching. **now posted Amezaga @ SS** I like Miggy 3rd because it maximizes his at-bats, but it is frustrating: no matter where you put him in the lineup, he doesn't have much protection. Amazing how if he goes hitless today, he probably drops below .300. It's early, though, and I still think Cabs finishes the season .330-.340. More proof from last night's game for those Mets fans who think David Wright is better than Cabrera: Beltran would have never been intentionally walked with Cabrera batting behind him.
  12. The ticket deals are nice but those people are nothing but cheap knock offs of the practice perfected by Philadelphia Phillies fans. Wow. Such negativity towards people that are at least attempting to bring a little more fan support to our team. Guess you aren't old enough to remember Sheff's Field. We have had others as well. Besides Uggla's Uglies, most recently (I think) would have been those guys from PBC with the cardboard train going through the stands. My apologies Holly. I didn't click on your links to see these were game promotions. That's a pretty cool thing. Wasn't Sheffield's something like "Sheff's Kitchen," and the fans wore the white chef hates?
  13. Why do I hate Carlos Delgado? Perhaps it's because he's been sucking it up all year and he's doing this to us tonight. Great play by Cabs. Obermueller stinks.
  14. A few things on tonight's game: -Mitre has firmly established himself in the Marlins rotation. I was doubtful he would stick, but he has erased all remaining doubts in my mind after tonight. - When will the Marlins learn how to hit the crafty veterans, even a tiny bit? If they have their location on and the offspeed stuff working, the Marlins look like a bunch of bushers. - Tosca's managerial moves tonight, especially how he handled the pitchers, was a joke. Mitre was left out too long and he was much too slow to pull Pinto when it was clear he just didn't have it tonight. Was Mitre's pitch-count high? I don't remember him getting into any significant trouble in the later innings.
  15. Palm Beach Post says it was an "unidentified Marlins infielder". My guess is Olivo. Even though catchers and pitchers are normally not called infielders.
  16. Who was the Marlins' player who was tackled to the ground on the bottom left of the screen when the brawl begin?
  17. I love it. Berardino made a reference to this scene being a metaphor for how Cabrera's carried this team. Miggy and Alfredo sure don't care about showing each other their affections, do they. :lol
  18. Not like it really matters, but Cabrera hit 2 balls in this series that would have been home runs in every other ballpark.
  19. Did the Cabrera double hit the wall? I couldn't see the ball.
  20. *waits for someone to badmouth Cabs because he hit a groundball to short* Haven't you noticed. He's not clutch. Needs to step it up a bit. I seem to remember Cabs having a huge triple and a big RBI single in Tuesday's game. Just sayin'.
  21. I have noticed that Cabrera has been much more aggressive at the plate lately. Maybe he's getting pitches to hit early in the count?
  22. Let's go Miggy. He has 3 HRs against Lieber. Damn.
  23. There's also a better shot of the play on Floridamarlins.com. Looks like Hanley did get in before Barajas tagged him. One of the Phillies' announcers is such a moron. He was beside himself. "They called him safe??!! The throw beat him!!!"
