  1. Maybe Cabrera was feeling under the weather, but felt he was good enough to go, and a minute before he was supposed to bat, he felt too ill to do so. If it were a team infraction, he probably wouldn't have been in the lineup to begin with.
  2. So Jacobs pinch-hit for Cabrera. Very strange.
  3. Hopefully this carries over past the all star break...Miguel has really looked a lot better over the past couple of weeks. Not to mention more in shape/slimmer... or im i the only1 who has noticed this? Nope. A lot of us have.
  4. Hanley was an absolute beast. Jacobs >> Boone defensively. Miggy finally solved Lowe. And speaking of Cabs, he has looked much better defensively since losing some weight. Has anyone else noticed he is now making those charging plays with relative ease? He's got the skills. I really hope he can keep it up.
  5. If he dosen't make at least the finals who is going to be the first one to blame his pitcher? Because it just couldn't be Miggy's fault. And I'm thinking it may even be Fredi as his pitcher. A bonus to the Fredi bashers. :violin
  6. What angers me in particular was Hermida's casual single-handed attempt at that ball.
  7. I know it's not a favorable matchup for us, but let's hope we can break out against the Padres' great pitching.
  8. The Marlins should have tried to trade for Gathright before the Royals called him up. He might have been cheap then, but he won't be now. Coulda, woulda, shoulda. Live in the now. As for Amezaga, he's convincing me. #5 Web Gem on BBTN. Only #5? Wow. There must have been some spectacular plays made yesterday.
  9. not too sure about this but give him the benefit of the doubt. looked like he was taking a home run trot till he realized it wasn't..... bash me if you will. im definately a hanley supporter im just sayin what it looked like. lol Are you implying that Hanley faked his injury?
  10. Almost as good as Pavarotti's rendition. :| I was being 100% serious too. I know, and I'm blown away by it. That Potts guy is very talented, but to mention him in the same breath as the master Pavarotti? It's like comparing Charlotte Church to Maria Callas. WOW. :banghead Maybe I exaggerated a little, but I was trying to make a point. Potts is an amateur opera singer, and to compare him to one of the greats of all time is silly, IMO.

  12. I think I'll have to take a nap before the game.
  13. I hope Cabs is not in the derby Cabrera admitted last season it tired him.
  14. Wright has more votes then Cabs because girls think he's "hawt" so they voted for him so they can see him come the allstar game :| Not true, the girls go crazy for the married, overweight type who put their hair in strange cornrows. Maybe if the casual fan knew more about Cabrera other than how much he weighs, he could have beaten out Wright. Exactly. Look at what national recognition has done for Prince Fielder, who beat out Albert Pujols. And wasn't Pujols the majors' leading vote-getter last season?
  15. Wright has more votes then Cabs because girls think he's "hawt" so they voted for him so they can see him come the allstar game :| Not true, the girls go crazy for the married, overweight type who put their hair in strange cornrows. I dont know if youre kidding, but its true. The girls love Miggs, or at least all the ones I know who have seen the Marlins for more than 5 minutes. Chicks dig the long ball, don't they? Especially in 2003, Cabrera was quite the heartthrob. I think he still has the fanbase among girls. He does have a cute face. Just sayin. :whistle
  16. In 95% of cases there is no such thing as a productive out. I would disagree with you (especially the made up and highly exaggerated %) and argue it til the proverbial cows came home. Actually the real cows, the ones that used to be in that field that isn't a field anymore next to the turnpike exit and beside that canal. (The "old time" Marlins fans will know what I am talking about with that.) But I guess it's a matter of opinion. Can't tell you how many times I am up screaming for a player to stop trying to tie it up or win it on one swing of the bat after the first strike, late in the game or in what looks to be a close, low scoring game from the start. Just hit the ball, put it in play, keep the momentum going. And it seems like Miggy and Hanley are two of the biggest villians of that lately. Well, Cabrera is striking out a lot this season, and I hope he can count the K's down significantly in the 2nd half, but to me, he's one of the few guys on the team who doesn't swing for the fences every at-bat. Actually, he's one of the few guys on this team who has varying swings. Miggy hits better with runners on (.366). Last night, on a 2-strike count with a guy on 2nd, he shortened that swing & bounced the ball to the opposite field for a hit, and there was an at-bat last week where there was a guy on 2nd and no one out, and Miggy hit a lined shot to the second baseman. It was caught, but his approach was correct: go the other way to get the guy to 3rd. This seems to be the rule, rather than the exception, with him. Now Uggla is a guy who tries to pull the ball in nearly every at-bat (and his batting average shows it). He needs to work on hitting it the opposite way.
  17. The game was so pathetic last night that I look at it this way: We can't possibly play that poorly tonight.
  18. Miggy had his hair like this for part of last season too. Now when he does his dance with Mezzy, he can shake those dreads. :cool
  19. Error to Uggla. bulls***. I don't think the throw hit the runner, and it seemed to glance off Uggla's mitt.
  20. This is extremely depressing.
  21. To add on.... In the Mets game, Rain was in the forecast for a while, while in the Nats game, the rain was going to stop eventualy. A game is a game when 5 and 1/2 innings are completed. If it does not reach that point, the game is canceled and replayed from the beggining I thought they changed the rules this year. If a game gets postponed due to rain, the players pick up where they left off in that game. For instance, if it was 3-2 Marlins in the 3rd, and Dan Uggla was up to the plate with a 3-1 count when the game was called, it would be picked up from there. Unless I'm confusing this with something else?
  22. I know you all love ripping on him, but he's looked much lighter recently. Yep, and he's running a lot better too.
  23. Gees, this had to be a day game today, didn't it? It's days like these I wish I were unemployed.
  24. How freakin ironic. :lol
